The Negativity (about Enigma)

Honestly, I have conflicted feelings about the show so far, but I feel like negativity always gets overblown on this site and then others fans compensate by being overblown with positive just to fight back. It all spirals and gets exaggerated. People are allowed to not like Enigma or love Enigma. What's not okay is getting rude at each other or toward Gaga herself.

I mean..whether you think it's good or not....the show is doing something no other pop artist has done on the Vegas strip. Most singers just get up and sing their hits to *typically* lazy lighting and set designs.

Gaga's show features theatrics, a unique stage, somewhat of a story line and video graphics that are wholly new for this show of hers and not just reused from past tours.

So, the show does bring some new elements to a typical Vegas pop show regardless of if you like them.

Enigma is definitely a grower. While I do have some problems with some of the stuff in the show, overall, it's great. I'm watching higher quality videos of the show right now and there are so many things that I just flat out didn't see because of the livestream quality. It's so good!

People are allowed to have their opinions on Enigma, but I think that the most important thing to remember is to keep things civil. People are allowed to like/dislike a show, it's just the way you go about telling your opinions.

It is Residency, for F**'s sake. Designed for the masses who visit LV to get a taste of an artist. There is no denying that has been fulfilled.

Can we possibly ask the Mods to delete all these negative posts? What if Gaga does actually sees this? This, from her supposed Monsters? How would these neg people feel if she never created another show? Geez People, let up!

It's times like these where I literally hate coming onto this site  Instead of celebrating what Gaga has achieved, people tear her to pieces. 

I loved the show and can't wait to see it. People also need to realize that this was the first of many shows and there's only room for improvement from now on. You all need to take a breather or go outside.

Yeah... i tend to stay away from this cul place when big things are happening... same thing happened when jwt started... and everyone hated it

Do you even remember The Monster Ball 1.0? That was her most innovative stage yet, highly suitable for theaters, and groundbreaking in terms of design, as well as conceptually thought-provoking.

Once more: I'm not blindly gunning for her. I've just seen her do better 1000x a long time ago. She herself said in interviews back in the old days that she didn't want to become a performer who put less and less effort and money into her shows, so I'm calling her out for exactly that when I see her do it

I feel like circumstances have changed though since back in those interviews. Her body just couldn't keep up with her mind. Her body broke, and now everyday she has to think about every move she makes because it may trigger her whole body to end up in pain. Doing a whole show for 2 hours like that takes a toll, it's obvious. 

So, yes, she's sad that in the past, but she's had to change the way she performs, because that's what she loves to do, and that's what the fans want. So if she now needs to put "less effort" and more money into a show, so be it; at least this living legend is still giving us the opportunity to still experience her, while we still have her.

I'm glad she's taken a step back for this show, it honestly must not have been an easy decision for her to say "I'm going to sit and rest during TEOG & Aura" and not do full choreo. I'm proud of her for being able to do that.

I also wouldn't say she's put less effort into this show. I just feel like the show has so much room to grow, and hopefully whatever is going on in her head, she can bring out and make clearer to some of the fans that aren't getting it.

I've seen like three "negative" posts that are just bashing the show

A few posts with fair critique of things that can / should be fixed like some kinks in the choreo or fashion that doesn't quite work

Then there are hundreds of posts about everyone being negative? 

 

It's not that deep y'all.  The show was great, there's just some tweaking that needs to happen to elevate it further... all of the tours started with some kinks in them but they see them and fix them.

I still can’t belive she made this wonderful show with plot and visuals and outfits and interludes that all compete with her best show TMB but she decided to waste it all by singing songs from the first 3 years of her career. All these fresh visuals just render useless to me when they’re not attached to fresh music.
