So you knew Joanne was being re-released for the Grammys? You saw The Cure coming with Coachella? Winter Wonderland being released?  I’ve been following her since 2013 honey. What you can’t trust is when she actually confirms/teases a release (cough PARTYNAUSEOUS (Twice), Princess Die, ACT 2, etc.).

It’s still really high worldwide and soundtrack in itself is still doing pretty great. If they want a new single, then it’s a new single from the soundtrack. That’s it.

The film promotes the soundtrack. Gaga doesn't need to. 

No, but the Oscar campaign is still going on and will ramp up once the nominations start. Especially from the POV of Warner Bros who will want their lead actors to be fully invested in the campaign. 

Gaga also isn't sloppy, especially after the ARTPOP era. Gaga is not going to start a new era with the album being pretty much done, alongside the MV for the lead single and all of the visuals. There's no way she has done that. It's not like she's Ariana Grande where she could release a random single and it would be #1 on Spotify.

Shallow was #1 on WW iTunes til like yesterday. I just checked, it's #2 now, because of Mariah's song.

But, three months after release and still being #1 is far from dead

So... how would Gaga releasing a new single negatively impact Shallow? 

It's not going to magically jump up like 30 odd places on the Hot 100 or in the UK, since they've cut the streams in half there since it spent so long in the UK
