I don't know if you misinterpreted my opinions on it because that's exactly how I feel about it lmao. I don't want or think the illnesses I face or any illness for that matter needs or should have a "face". The fact that she wants to be the face is gross to me. You can use your platform to help others with what you're dealing with but her just being like I want to be the face doesn't seem like the right mindset. Please understand when I respond in certain ways, it's the topic.. Not the person posting. Lol. I adore you! Couldnt agree more. But ya know, that's probably the next new thing. Let's model diseases! Wouldnt surprise me. The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw

It's a shame that we need one to begin with, but people don't know the health struggles of their neighbors. A "face" raises awareness and education on other individuals pain. ....and then what? I know what you mean but trust me. If people want a face or to learn more or to see.. Theres a million hospitals in this world. I don't want to be some dog in a sad commerical. I get it. ...idk tho... something feels wrong about it. Xoxo The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw

calmar 22,036
Although I also have some chronic illnesses and mental health issues, as well as a complex medical history, I think the way I relate to Gaga's struggles is sort of inverted from other people here. Since I struggled and overcame (to the extent I can) a lot of my issues before I became a Gaga fan, I don't draw strength or inspiration from Gaga, but rather it allows me to relate to her on a more personal level. A lot of my strength is simply internal - "I've done this before, I've been dealing with this, it's not a huge deal." @That J are you on a transplant list? I've gone through double kidney failure and got a transplant for that, so I'm aware of the kind of thing you're going through. 俺の勝利は揺るぎない

None of them are fan accounts and I just came across a lot talking about Gaga so I thought I'd mention it. Ok that changes the perspective a bit. Still seems like they could spend their time on more useful things then discussing who should be the face of a disease.

I think I dont like that Lena came out saying something needed a face. And I dont trust hers anyway but thats just me. The idea that disease should be modeled is grotesque and she should be ashamed for suggesting so. That right there tells me she doesnt get it. It's more about bringing awareness to it and generating public discussion in turn raising funds for research and said cure - what better way to generate awareness than a celebrity? Standard. I don't see much fighting going on it's just comments on not being for Lena Dunham becoming sort of a main spokesperson for this illness that is already barely taken seriously by anyone. It's affects their lives everyday and I mean I wouldn't want someone like Lena to be the "face" of what I have. People on here fight over a 10 second video on Madonna's instagram story I think talking about someone wanting to represent something that can ruin lives is less cringy but that's my two cents. cool
