To answer your question: some people want more depth in a song and are not looking for bawpz, but actual meaningful songs. WDYDT? is simply not that.

I think that’s debatable. Gaga herself said that song was intentionally supposed to be shallow, hence why that was written into the exchange she has with Jackson in the bathtub. 

Despite what Diane Warren says, it’s obviously something that was picked because of that. Diane Warren herself has written beautiful, deep songs that she consistently says she hates so I wouldn’t trust her opinion lol

It’s bad nonetheless.  The awful ass lyrics, the basic beat... it can be guilty pleasure at best.

WDYDT is fun, catchy and her vocals are great. It's not a meaningful song or anything groundbreaking but I don't think it needs to be for you to appreciate it for what it is- a bop

This thread is about people not liking certain songs. Sounds like you're the one that can't accept that people don't like trashy music.

Before I Cry is her most underrated song, and I honestly don't understand why a lot of people hate on it.

Why Did You Do That? is growing on me. I actually really like it now.

Why Did You Do That?: It has basic lyrics but it’s so fun and I really like her vocals!

Before I Cry: Such a good song and again, those vocals!

Swine: In my top 10 Gaga songs!! The way she screams SWINE

Aura: Also one of my favorites!! This song is such a journey with a sickening beat.

Bad Kids: The intro is fantastic and the song song is really good and I like the lyrics.

So Happy I Could Die: Not one of my personals favorites but it is a really good song nonetheless! Catchy lyrics and a cool rhythm.

Paper Gangsta: That piano and choir make it feel so unique. I also really like the way she sings/speaks.

So no hate here

To be fair I like (and even love) all the songs that you mentioned, except for “Why Do You Do That”. I’m just not a fan of Top 40 tropical house. Funny enough someone made a WDYDT/MANiCURE mashup (I cant find the link) and it made the song a little more likable for me.
