No, but at least young voters would stop voting right. I know many people my age who feel threatened by migrants,probably cause of the way they are portraied by medias ,and that leads them to vote right. I mean, even my gay friends vote right cause of that. They are willing to vote homophobic parties as long as they don’t let migrants in.

I need to clairfy: I support the Canadian model when it comes to immigration.

Asylum is something different. It’s an ethical discussion. Taking in refugees is ethical correct. But how to deal ethically correct with refugees when they are homophobic, sexist, antisemitic etc.? That’s the discussion, where I don’t have an answer to.

I get that the goal is "stop right-wing populism" which is a good thing, but caving in might not be the best way to do that.

Idk if true but I heard some people say that crimes and violence is rising a lot in some European places/countries where they left lots of immigrants in. These factors are sometimes due to different cultures or poverty, I think. Is this accurate? I've never been to Europe and I didn’t really search on the matter

Idk honestly. The whole situation with refugees and immigrants and the middle east and stuff is all just becoming a bit much and it's really hard to find the right balance imo. There are the obvious side effects of immigrations (such as her point) but there's also the humanitarian issue of leaving these people in the sad places where they live. It's very hard to say imo.
