Right wing doesn’t give a damn about same sex marriage, in fact they’re against it and against abortions. They are not for women rights. They’re using them to make their own people racist and angry at anyone who looks Middle Eastern. And you should know better than to generalize whole populations, people who are fleeing from war deserve a refuge. Do not forget about Western involvements in all these wars, especially Clinton.

I didn’t generalize a whole population.

I know that those fleeing war deserve to seek refuge. But they are called refugees. Clinton was talking about immigrants.

A migrant is a person who consciously makes a choice to leave their homeland and seek a better life in another state.

Non-white immigration*. And you’re gonna win them by giving them what they want? You think they will stop there?

US example show us it’s not true.

How many refugees they took last year? Did that decrease or increase hate crimes by white nationalists?

Europe has a different mentality and a different right wing concept. The rise of right wing populism in Europe was proportional and parallel to the rise of immigration and violence related to immigration.

If it is another ME, I wouldn’t. I don’t care about the economic advantages in a country of Middle Eastern majority-like mentality.

Refugees or immigrants from ME are not becoming majority in European countries. That is some weird fear mongering you fell for. They are people fleeing from war and and majority of them are in developing countries. 85%.

I can only speak from my experience in the U.K.

It was our right leaning party that made gay marriage legal after public opinion shifted and they have even issued apologies to past LGBT+ people that faced punishment in the U.K. decades ago when being gay was illegal.

The two main political parties in the U.K. are more central on their policies just leaning slightly left or right though, I am aware that other countries have far more extreme parties in control.

Clinton was talking about refugees and immigrants. Right wing hate both.

Her quote:

I think it is fair to say Europe has done its part, and must send a very clear message – ‘we are not going to be able to continue provide refuge and support’ – because if we don’t deal with the migration issue it will continue to roil the body politic.”

Meaning send them back & don’t take more in so we can win the elections.

Europe has not done it’s part. Maybe Germany has. Not whole EU.

What contributed to the 'election' of Donald Trump is also mainly fake news and fake videos about Europe and immigration. I am European and I am absolutely not against immigration especially when it comes to the refugees. I consider that about 1 million people among 800 millions europeans is nothing. But this is not even the question, they are fleeing war. Helping refugees is fundamental.

I would like a Canadian model. Even center left parties support that currently in Germany at least.

There needs to be a difference between immigration and asylum as in refugee law shouldn’t be changed.

It is a very complex issue. It could have been prevented years ago if people would helped those in Syria, Iran, Irak and Afghanistan etc. and stopped giving them weapons. The european gouverments too, all countries are involved with Saudi-Arabias weapon-policies -- money makes the world go round. If the IS wouldn't get guns, if Assad was stopped, Putin and all the other idiots, and if America would stop too bombing and ****...
As an austrian, I dealt with many refugees and while some of them are narrow-minded awful bigoted conservatives because of their reactionary religious socialization (misogyny, homophobia, antisemitism, sexism etc.), and a few even dangerous and violent, there's also a bunch of very liberal and progressive muslims that are actually fleeing because not only of war, terrorism and poverty but also to escape those islamist fundamentalist tendencies and dogmatic indoctrinication. There are gay refugees fleeing from their homophobic families. Others who lost their whole family because of bombing etc. ...

There are a record of 2,208 billionaires in the world, according to Forbes' 2018 rich list. Tells us a lot about us as a society, doesn't it?
Imagine if the world was fair.
Thousands and thousands of people already drowned or starved to death while trying to escape in boats over the sea to us... :(
