Literally, uniforms are excellent... I find it weird people don’t like them

In my office we have a choice of wearing our own smart, office friendly clothes OR wear a uniform that is a polo shirt with the logo on and almost everyone opts for the uniform. I love not having to worry about what I have to wear

Let's face it, regardless of what rules you'll put in place, bullying will happen. This isn't helping, it's just another bullshit rule.

I'm not, I'm from the Netherlands. I just think that everyone wearing their own clothes allows people to express themselves more freely and be true to themselves, as opposed to everyone wearing the same uniform just to fit in.

Also I think Americans have guidelines for school clothing as well? I've read multiple times about girls being send home because their skirts were too short, which could distract the boys . We didn't have that at all. Crop tops, hotpants, all was allowed. As it should be.

Uniforms is great. I don't have to add extra headache to mix and match clothes, or even buying a new one every week, to just look cool. Besides, regular clothes will actually look more showy when someone wears expensive clothes than uniforms 

Also uniforms are also in some professions too. They ain't complaining either

I get the intentions of this measure. Posh kids are extremely spoiled and are the worst kind of people you can meet with (especially if they've already been infected with their right-leaning ideas from their parents), so they will use anything to make the kids who don't have rich parents feel bullied and full of shame. Not even just poor children, also the children who are just middle class. The coat thing isn't going to change anything but maybe they should 

a) Punish harder bullying that has nothing to do with physical fighting or direct insults: sometimes laughing at your face or making a sarcastic comment about your looks / background / ideas can be more damaging than a proper insult at that age. Zero tolerance to humilliation, exclusion, behind-your-back-but-I'll-make-sure-you-listen nasty comments. Label it as a crime so parents of children younger than 12 can face legal challenges and teens of age 13 or more face legal challenges themselves

b) Free and usable mental health resources in schools

I'm glad that the school, despite not understanding the chore of the problem, did something about it. xo

1.They're really uncomfortable
2.In hot weather, they're literally the worst thing possible (I don't know about all schools, but at least in ours, you must wear your blazer at all times unless you're in. class and your teacher says it's okay).
3.Nobody really likes the way they look, honestly.
4.They don't allow individuality

I'm British and I didn't realise how grateful I was for my uniform at school, until we were allowed to wear our own clothes in the sixth form (last couple of years at school). At the time I didn't have a lot of my own money and the clothes I did have were pretty much all from the bargain bucket at the local supermarket. I looked terrible, and though no one bullied me about it, because at that age kids are generally more sensible, I knew they were judging me, and I'm sure if we wore our own clothes in the lower years bullying would have been rife.

It's easy to resent being told what to wear at school if you do come from about background where it's easy for you to wear what you want and look good, but when that's not a possibility for you, uniform is honestly a God-send.

In Luxembourg it's the same. We also have some guidelines, but they don't really care. 

However, I think that wearing uniform is way simpler and practical. 

I mean, you can still express yourself out of school.

Yes, bullying will always happen, but this is just one more thing that kids don't have to worry about.

School uniforms are such a great thing, I'm so grateful we had them. Spared me so much stress (and my parents money) not having to think about what to wear every day.

1 - 3 are all problems with the uniform you’ve been told to wear.  My school and work uniforms have all been fine.

4. Get used to it.  In the world of work, you are not an individual unless you are running your own company.  You are representing your employer and will abide by their rules.  People demanding individuality are in for a shock when they’re not hired or they are given disceplinery action because they want to be “individual.”

The difference is that a job with a uniform is a choice. Besides, a lotta jobs have dress codes rather than uniforms, which is completely reasonable. Unless you're absolutely stuck financially, you generally have choice between at least a few jobs. School uniform isn't a choice.
