I honestly thought people were fed up with Trump and Republicans and that the results would reflect that. That would nearly match the margin the Republicans achieved in the 2010 midterms, which Barack Obama famously described as “a shellacking.” Only the rampant gerrymandering of the past few years contained the size of the Democratic majority. Middle America is not like the coasts: they have far less people. Because of that it looks like the whole country is Republican when in actuality it’s just a fewer number of people in those areas that tend to sway Republican. We beat tea-party 2010 numbers in 2010, and that was the original "red wave". We lost a few seats in the Senate, but that's okay, Trump won't get anything passed without Dems. The fact that young, upcoming citizens are the soul of this political movement gives us hope for the future. So sad to see that all these close minded, racist people with outdated views of society (not saying that all republicans are like this) are deciding for the country when majority of them wont even live long enough the see the full consequences of this politic regime.
