The only problem I have with Gaga's voice when tries to sing solemnly is that it does not sound natural as compared to eg Grace Jones in A Star is Born (although I prefer the instrumental in Gaga's version). Not very many female vocalists have as rich a lower register as Gaga and Nina, and the ones who do don't have their expressiveness in it. This is honestly such a good song for Gaga to sing. For those wanting to hear it: Good point about how similarly low their registers are! If Gaga did a Nina Simone covers album, I honestly think a lot of the gays and GP would already be here for it, and many more who aren't familiar with Simone would get on board once they heard the music.
