I’m not really sure how I feel about an amazing song such as Shallow having to work it’s butt off just to survive in the US while Ari’s mediocre (at best) random song just going to easily debut in the top 2? Possibly even at 1?

Idk I’ve been following this chart thread for a few weeks and this is pretty frustrating

You know what's crazy? Gaga has always had to fight for her spot. The Fame Monster didn't have a single #1 and Katy Perry had 5 #1s from an album. Same happened with ARTPOP. She fought hard to succeed in The Fame.

The only single that automatically and instantaneously became successful was Born This Way. Even the rest of the album was a fight.

I honestly prefer having a hit in all big markets but the US rather than only in the US *cough* You & I, MR *cough* :awkney:

And even if they spent equal weeks in the Top 30 by next week Shallow has way more BB points than Apeshit had in its first 5 weeks, primarily from those 2 weeks in the Top 10. I wouldn't be surprised if Shallow already surpassed Apeshits BB pts.

Probably. Two weeks Top 10 > no weeks Top 10. Apesh*t also kinda flopped on streaming, Shallow is gonna outview it in like... 4 weeks already. It's been doing 250k daily right now and is rapidly declining, Million Reasons is currently doing better on YouTube daily than Apesh*t even. Even as a Beyoncé stan, this feels correct. Not one single fan asked for this or wanted this, I hope this is a wake up call to her team that getting lazy and resting on your laurels from previous eras does not guarantee future smash eras. I get that she can do what she wants and that she's at a point where she doesn't have to care about commercial success but like... the album is an actual sh*tstain and such a massive drop in quality overall from her previous two records.

Can't wait for this to be performed at the Oscars and go directly to #1 on iTunes. This song is acting just like DARK HORSE.

Plus I hate the fact that for people "she's so brave" if she talks about the ex, but if Taylor Swift does it, she's a ****ing slut. C'mon people

Nobody is saying that she's brave for talking about exes, people are saying it's commendable that instead of going for the jugular and writing a diss track, she choses to see how each of her past relationships has enrichend her as a human being, even they failed and things didn't end on good terms. The Taylor Swift comparison is a bit out of place and tbh Taylor Swift getting dragged for writing about her exes is a very 2012 thing that kind of didn't happen anymore after she addressed the hypocrisy of it right from the getgo of the 1989 era. And if the people around you still do it, they're probably women-hating nutcases that you should cut out of your life probably.
