Wait sorry, I mixed something up. It’s not nominated cause it has „La vie en rose“ and „Over the Rainbow“ on it :air: That’s the only reason, cause it’s not only original Songs

you know there’s no such category as best soundtrack right? it’s called Best Original Score and it only refers to the instrumental score (as in the music played in the background). on and off over the years there was a category called Best Original Song Score which musicals fit into with their entire song scores but because of the general lack of enough musicals per year they retired the category (it was only given out a few times over the years anyway). Cinematography - lmao. The camera was always in their faces, the biggest issue I have with this movie :triggered:

Well, cool but it was not comfortable for me. Showing emotion - yes. 60% of the movie and most dialogues while camera sits on their face and not even showing neck - nope.

The record of the most Oscar nominations is at 14 (Titanic, La La Land, All about Eve) and the record of the most awards is at 11 (Titanic)

Quick addition: Ben-Hur and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King also won 11 awards.

I know splitvoting isn’t ideal but I’m greedy and I want ARUTW & INLA so Gaga can perform a medley and Bradley can introduce her :flutter:

If it’s Shallow though there’s a higher chance they’ll get some random to do Bradley’s part and I only want either him or Lukas to do it :laughga:

Also, for those of you wondering why they didn’t submit for Best Soundtrack is because there are not only original songs on it (La vie en rose and Somewhere over the rainbow)

Does the Grammys care about this too?

as long as she wins Best Original Song, I'm good. Even if it's the only Oscar the movie wins that night :vegas:

It’s needs to be Bradley, or no one else. They should dress up as Ally and Jackson 😂😂

That was what i wrote originally in my post but someone said I was wrong :huntyga: And Best original score is just the official name, you can call it best soundtrack tbh. At least that’s what I did the years before.

Also was the La La Land soundtrack last year only instrumental then?

it’s not the soundtrack, it’s the orchestral score. there were two songs nominated for Best Song, and one won. the score was nominated for best score, and it won. this win includes none of the songs that were written, but instead was for the rest of the orchestral score. idk what you wrote originally but there is no oscar for best song score anymore, the only things that can be nominated are individual songs and the musical or orchestral score (with no lyrics). that’s why when La La Land won best score, Pasek & Paul (the guys that did the lyrics to the songs) didn’t win and weren’t at the podium giving speeches (and why Justin Hurwitz didn’t join them onstage when they all won Best Song, he wanted to give them their moment to shine).
