You can still be racist and have black family members and/or friends. Racism is such a broach spectrum of possibilities. And at the end of the day, white people will NEVER understand the black experience. Also, this is her husband.

White people may not say or believe in racist things, however it is possible for white people to have a subconscious bias against minorities. When they grow up watching TV shows where black people are portrayed as criminals or somehow different it makes them suspicious of people that don't look like them.  That's why this white woman was blocking this black man's entry to his luxury apartment. She assumed that a black man couldn't afford to rent an apartment in her fancy building. She was suspicious of him because of his race
