The fact is, that if you buy real fur, you are supporting the fur industry. There is no other way to word it. Why is Gaga hiding behind this "moral rigidity" excuse?

I don't know :ohno: she says that she sees "art" but if an "art" painting is made of human blood would it still be "art" for her? it's the same with the fur but with animals :(

Very nice letter. Honest and respectful. While it might bring negative press, the motif of the letter has been stated.

So this is what Gaga is talking about, beautiful art but wrong "materials" (animal fur/human blood)

I do think she sees fashion (when linked to these issues) as her weakness. She acknowledges it isn't a right thing to do, but admires the beauty of it, in this case, the coat.

There's nothing to worry about, though. She's not perfect, after all. Her good actions definitely outweigh her wrongdoings. :)

Well that's a good point and it's not like she's going to stand up for animal slaughter and fur clothes just because she bought 1 or 2 :P

"And to campaigners, Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous."

I love her :dies:

Very classy response :clap:I don't agree with her 100% though. I'm against fur... I just think about how people go and kill animals and skin them just so you can wear a fuzzy coat? Wouldn't faux fur do the same thing, but without killing animals? But if she wants to do it, its her decision. I bet she wouldn't kill Fozzi for a fur coat though...

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't really get what PETA's about. We're fukcing human beings, we survive off of food chains, so what's the big opposition is with fur? If we're already killing the animal, then why not use the fur? It's killing two birds with one stone. It's the circle of life. When one thing dies, something else lives.

I feel like I'm missing something.

True. Even if she happens to buy more of them. Buying fur clothes does not translate directly to supporting animal slaughter.

Finally. This fur thing has gotten way out of hand. Fur has been around for forever. Glad to see someone not afraid to sport it out in public.

That the purpose is for vanity instead of a need. The fashion industry has also been accused of mistreating animals for fur extraction. However, similar accusations have been made against the food industry. I'm not that well informed on either subject, so I can't say any more.

It's different if you kill a "normal" animal like a pig or a chicken for food than if you kill an endangered species just for the fur.

I get that. But the animal is already dead. What the fukc is a dead animal going to do with its fur.

Well I agree that it's different if you are only killing it for the fur. But if that b---h is already dead, use that **** up.
