I could tell from the look in his eyes when he was laying in bed with Ally & she lied about her label cancelling the tour that he was going to break. Once he started drinking & taking pills & made his dog that steak for the last meal he'd give him, I about lost it  

 

And those last moments before he closed the garage where he just stared out into the world & made that final decision to live or die.....

Remember she had told her manager she would only do the European tour if Jackson could come along with her for his well being, but the manager told her there's no way he would let that happen & Ally told him to cancel the tour then. Later her manager told Jack that she cancelled the tour because of HIM, but when she came home she lied and said her label cancelled it so she could work on a new album. Jack knew she was lying & felt like his addictions & his depressions are holding back her dreams.

I didn't realize Jackson till my second time watching it either. I was so confused when I saw the red and blue lights. Charlie is truly a scene stealer. Can't wait for his Oscar.
