The first single off her fifteenth studio album

I personally prefer GTFO. This is a nice track but not really first single worthy for me. Sounds like a leftover from Memoirs

This somewhat reminds me (sonically) of Bye Bye.

I'm unfortunately underwhelmed. I really don't see this as the comeback single that many were hoping it would be. :green:

I'm listening rn and I like it, but it's not great. It seems like it might fade into the back of album, but it has redeeming qualities.

Especially this:

Mariah has been releasing the same song for like 15 years now.

Because all her first singles sounds the same, right? :ohwell:

I miss that Daydream-era voice... where are those soaring high notes, effortless runs and smooth lows?  I believe she's irreparably damaged her voice between 1996-1997 and never took the proper time off, or took care of her vocal problems, and it's just been a slow decline, but sudden when you consider she sounded completely different in '97 than she did in '96.

There is SOME truth to that though. He exaggerated but:

Dreamlover, Fantasy, Honey, Heartbreaker, and Loverboy are pretty much the same song with the same formula. THose are all lead singles from 5 straight albums.

She has found other formulas (the "We Belong Together" R&B piano ballad and the breathy R&B midtempo)

REALITY

So by the replies to this thread, I already know that this is an unpopular opinion, but I prefer this 1000000% to GTFO.

This is so bland and her vocals sound so strained.

ughhh really wanted her to find success again...but it won't happen with this.
