Actually yes, all leaks are bad tbh. But we as fans like to listen to them anyway. This is different because its a Warner Bros movie... not a Lady Gaga project.

But anyway... I dont judge if you wanna listen to it. I just HATE how some members keep talking about the leaks when clearly some of us are waiting to watch the movie and avoid spoilers

also I didn't listen to any gaga leaks till like 2015 cause I was strongly against them.. but sometimes you have to indulge. The whole morality of leaks is a complex subject, and one that I personally don't have enough energy to debate about

Yeah the tour thing is kinda tricky... I've typically only been to opening dates so I could avoid spoilers on purpose, but with Vegas, and specifically the pop show, I think there are like 4 before mine, but for Jazz I got the opening. I can see how that's a whole confusing scenario though, and with tour stuff it's A LOT HARDER to avoid. Leaks for ASIB we're pretty easy to avoid because we have so much going on right now, 2 released songs, interviews, red carpets, talk shows, candids... so the leaks we're not all that we we're talking about as a fanbase

Yes, I’ve never even bothered with the famous Brooklyn Nights, have no idea what “Out Of Control” or “Red Flame” is. Never seen leaked footage of a video.

I don't know about the "you ruin the movie" thing, like I knew most ABBA songs in Mamma Mia, and the musical was still amazing so 

It's the movie that brings it all together in the end, music is music to me, and if I know I'll buy the album the dvd and the vinyl then I might as well take a peek if I so desire

why do people care if we're against leaks?  I thought being against leaks was a good thing. The ones that are against leaks are always reporting accs, they're the ones creating group chats to take down links and accs. what they're doing is not that bad so I don't get why people fight with them. you all said that this won't hurt the soundtrack and its true, but when the first ASIB leaks happened we didn't know that, remember Joanne?  300,000 people illegally download the album in less than a day and we thought that was going to happen again. LG6 will probably leak too in the future, are guys going to illegally download that album too? cause the Joanne leak definitely hurt its first week sales. 

 

I get it, you guys claim that you'll buy the album even if you listen to the leaks but you're also spreading the links for other people to listen and download the leaks and you don't know if they're going to buy/listen to the album on Spotify.

Joanne was illegally download by the GP, not only by her fans so please stop having this f*cked up mentality cause LG6 will probably leak too .

I'm no longer talking about ASIB cause the leaks didn't hurt the album, btw. I'm talking about being against hackers, people who leak the album in advanced because a store in China decided to sell the album early and people who support them as well.

But once it's is already out there, I personally don't see how fans are harming anyone just by listening to the leaks, knowing that they'll support the official release just as much once it comes out.

It's a tricky subject. In a perfect world nothing would leak and everyone would be completely content waiting for official releases

if there's a demand for illegal new songs, hackers are going to hack artists computers/labels/idk because they are people like you that are willing to support those hackers 

also, Joanne was leaked by a fan, that fan leaked the album because he probably wanted more followers and likes, you guys created a demand and that's why he leaked it. You don't want to cause harm but you're hurting gaga's team, Bobby has said this so many times and you still don't get it.

Oh my god I'm such an idiot. I was wondering why people were misinterpreting my post, but I realized my thread title wasn't right at all 

Changed it from "For people who oppose ASIB leaks" to  "For people who oppose listening to ASIB leaks"

I didn't want to raise the impressing that I'm pro-leaking. I don't want Gaga, WB, or anyone to get hacked. The thread is solely about choosing to either listen or not listen to something. The act of leaking something or sharing links is always wrong in my book.

Well, Brooklyn Nights and the DWUW music video never got released anyway. From my understanding Brooklyn Nights just leaked—it was never released, so how could it be leaked ahead of its nonexistent release date? 

I also think that it's a matter of principle more so than whether or not you're going to buy whatever music leaked. For example, with Joanne, I don't think Gaga though, "Oh my gosh, people are listening to my songs before they're released so now my sales will go down!". She thought about how it was a matter of principle. It doesn't necessarily matter if you're still going to buy the music. You still decided to listen to something that wasn't meant to be released yet. If they wanted you to listen to it earlier, they would have released it earlier.
