Oh god.... I've been comforting myself saying that at least we'll get the studio version for Is That Alright? Is that one not being released too? She should just release both "movie version" and "studio version". I understand where she's coming from. But this is not La La Land. These songs could actually have radio success when released in studio versions, whereas La La Land music was only intended to be used for the movie only.

SPOILER:

You are wrong, it does not matter. But you say silly things.

I think it's a big mistake to use the live versions with even dialogues for the album... if the songs are really good, they deserve a studio version. In 4 years people won't remember the movie but they might still love  all the songs  and what? Will they have to listen to the dialogues? Kind of sh*t.

I love movies but how many times can you watch a movie? Your fave movie? 10? 20 times ? And a song?

If you love a song you can listen to it forever, everyday... and for people it can have an special meaning not related to the movie, that's why I think it's a big mistake not to have a proper studio version...

Stop. You're ridiculing yourself.

When the movie will released on DVD, I send you a private message  to prove you are wrong.

In the meantime, wash your ears, thank you.

I don't get why people are so surprised. Of course they have studio versions. They had to record and finish all of the songs before they could perform them live. The trailer track of Shallow we heard is probably from that pre-shooting period.

But that doesn't mean these versions were supposed to be released. You have to remember the amount of songs they have. Maybe if there were lesser songs in the film they could've split up the album into live and studio versions but if you want to include everything that's in the film, that's a problem.

My guess is Gaga convinced the producers to keep the soundtrack live (from what I've read it was her suggestion) because she considers the live music as part of the acting. To replace the authenticity of what's in the movie with something else would just be disappointing to the people who bought the soundtrack precisely to hear those versions from the film.

The only people who are gonna be let down in my opinion are the Gaga fans who are just used to studio versions. I don't see any other soundtrack buyer being like "omg why is this live?". If they did their research, they'd know why: because the music was recorded live. The end.

Soundtracks do it all the time, notably Quentin Tarantino who's kind of famous for it. It's to recreate the atmosphere of the movie and to have more than just a collection of songs.

I dig it, honestly. I think there'd be more people who'd be like "the live version was better" if they could only buy studio versions than there'd be people who'd be disappointed they heard exactly what was in the movie (that's kind of why you buy the record anyway...) :messga: Just my opinion.

I mean, when the soundtrack for Les Misérables was released a few years ago, I heard no complaints that it was all live, and that album was way worse in terms of sound, production or vocal quality than the version of Shallow we got yesterday.
