Wait so there is no studio version of the song...They were all recorded live? :duck:

What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

I think there will be a studio version. If No, I'll be disappointed. I mean, C2C was also recorded live in the studio. But if live versions have to be run instead of actual studio recordings, then it will be really disappointing. There's a reason studio exists lol.

With nowadays technology, a supercardiod condenser handheld mic can capture studio like vocals in a live setting. I think the problem is with the mixing. What we hear is probably intended for a surround sound system not stereo.

So why is the version in the trailer so different and without cheering? There must be a different version right? Not that we get to hear it but it is there.

The live version now is good for the context of the movie. I do hope they eventually reworks the song with more lyrics for a studio version. Each Individual part is great but they totally sound like a mash up especially from the verse to the chorus.

Well yeah, thanks for pointing it out.

The biggest differences between this and what we heard in the trailer are her vocals and the production. I wouldn't care about the crowd noises if her vocals were as strong in the trailer and it was as explosive when the final chorus hits. It's not a bad song by any means, but I'm a little bit let down by the production. Either way, I'll be streaming it and pissing myself when I get to hear Is That Alright? in full.

Anyways, #BuyShallowOniTunes

Right, but think about it like this:

It’s a song for a movie about someone playing on live stages and becoming a singer. We know she demanded everything be recorded live in the film, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Would a non live version maybe sound good too, sure! But the context of why the song exists and where it comes from makes sense.

Completely agree with this! We also have to consider that we only have this one song so far, once the whole movie and soundtrack are out it will make so much for sense. I also think this song is a grower because the more I listen the more I like it. So to all the little complainers out there, consider this. Because no one wants to hear 5 years from now that we still don’t have Shallow studio version :laughga:

Not to mention we know some songs were recorded in a studio as well.

It's safe to say that songs sang on a stage in the film itself will most likely have the "live" audience effect on the soundtrack. Songs were shes running down streets singing to herself, most likely in a studio.

and it only makes sense to do this. Soundtracks are supposed to be like your listening to the music version of the album, it only adds to the effect and will make much more sense once we have the full thing
