it's not arrogance, just an informed/educated guess.

well, sure they do as it is a musical. :selena:

I minored in psychology but I’m not going to make an educated guess that you’re suffering from narcissistic personality disorder. Because I minored in it. And I don’t know you.

Also, I think Bradley Cooper as the producer, director, screenwriter and lead actor knows where his film should be categorized. If for some crazy reason it’s slotted in Musical / Comedy, it’s probably a weak move by the studio to get as many awards as they feel they can. Which is stupid  because this film can put up a real fight against the current competition.

So you haven’t seen the movie, yet you’re more confident than people who have? That’s a tad bit arrogant, even if you did a minor in film.

Bradley and Gaga want the music to be recognized during the awards season, of course they’re going to comment on how important the music is to the film.

Well the music in the film doesn’t seem like it drives the conversation between characters so it makes sense it that they went for the drama direction :vegas:

IDK why are y'all so surprised... ASIB is def not your traditional musical (yes it has many songs in it and yes it has soundtrack but it is not traditional musical).. When you think about it it's more of a drama.. And it's def not comedy..

It’s no different to Barbra’s version. And that got nominated for Musical/Comedy. No different at all. If WB push for it to be nominated in the Drama category, they risk losing.

feel that based on what I’ve seen and know about ASIB that it could technically fit in both categoriesHOWEVER, I would think it fits best within the Drama category.

I’m just going into award season with zero expectations at this point. Every single award show has let me down in the last five years. As long as Gaga is there serving lewks, I’ll be happy :vegas:

Good luck going agaisnt Roma, If Beale Street Could Talk, First Man, Widows,Vice etc. and Gaga going agaisnt Glenn, Nicole, Viola, Saoirse etc. when her only real competition in Musical/Comedy would be whoever goes lead for the Favourite... Chiiile I hope not ...

Roma is not eligible for best picture drama, afaik

noah fence, but this would probably mean it's not gonna win any (besides best original song) then :selena:

You forgot Bradley for best actor, i’d say he’ll win no matter what category he is in

Last role doesn't mean anything, especially if the noms are very competitive.

Look at this year with Daniel Day Lewis, who also starring his last movie, Phantom Thread.

It is not about pity, it will be insulting to the actors who got it.
