I've stanned both since I was 8. I'm not saying there isn't any toxic M stans, there are a lot of disgusting ones, I can't even read MadonnaNation anymore because of the disgusting comments in there, not just hateful ones but also... others that shall never be mentioned I'm just saying that not ALL Madonna stans are like this. Unless these aging twunks are Grammy or Oscar voters, they can stay pressed and watch our good sis be successful. I enjoy Madonna music as well but she has been petty toward Gaga (“reductive” tea sip, singing “BTW” and “She’s Not Me” at the MDNA Tour, etc) so she sort of makes it okay for them to act this way. Gaga has many times asked her fans to be kind and to not be negative (No Negativity on this site thanks ). Hell, her entire BTW album and foundation is dedicated to kindness and self-acceptance. On the other hand, how many times has Madonna asked her fans to be kind? To stop the drama and start the music??? That is the difference between Gaga and Madonna. DrewPa 3,762 Posted September 5, 2018 Share Posted September 5, 2018 I have been a Madonna Stan for 30 years (literally, I bought my first album of hers in 87), but now I left all her fan forums and so on. her stans are pathetic: you can be sassy and passionate if you are a teenager, that's part of the game, but if you are in your 40s... we'll, you are just dull. some (most) of Madonna's late public appearances made my teeth gringe. She can't manage growing old, and it is so obvious it would be funny if it wasn't so sad. And her striving to compete with pop stars half her age is desperate. Madonna always had "rivals" : Cyndi Lauper, Whitney Houston, Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey... but she and her fan base never have been so harsh as with Gaga. Because all the pop stars I named, despite their huge success, never managed to touch the spot Madonna created for herself, none of them really offers the gp the kind of show Madonna did. With Gaga is different: she is clearly a Madonna-esque kind of pop star (or at least, she has been during TF/TFM era) and she can be even better, since (let's be honest) she can sing. And apparently, she can act too. Madonna should have become a sort of Cher pop star: ironic, tongue in cheek, beloved aged pop star with a huge iconic status. She and her fan base did not accept time passed. This is a fight they can't win. Too bad that with their attitude they are really managing to spoil the souvenir of a glorious 40+ years career. (Lets not forget one thing: without Madonna, 95% of the popstars wouldn't be here today. She literally paved the path to every single one of them, Gaga included.) You don't want to live with the same bitterness as some of those fans do. Just ignore them. There are plenty of Madonna fans who are nice. And Madonna's art is amazing! You don't want to be missing out just because of silly internet feuds. And at the end of the day, do you think Gaga cares at all? She just received raving reviews for her film, she's got her family with her, she's in love, she's got great thing ahead of her, and in a few months she'll probably be an Oscar winner.
