Do we know of any new screening for critics scheduled for the next few days? We've had wonderful reviews so far but I'm still hungry for more. :messga:

I read somewhere that TIFF due to the success of ASIB added extra screenings of the movie this week (Wednesday and Thursday as I remember good).

So new reviews are going to flow tomorrow or the next days.

Stop talking to me. I wasn’t talking to you, so stop causing a problem. If you’re really that bothered, type in to Google: “La La Land overrated” and feast your eyes on the glory. OSCAR BAIT.

14 Oscars nominations?! I can think of at least 10 films that deserved that number of nominations but didn’t, starting with Moonlight and Get Out.

You can type "**** overrated" for any movies and you would get as many pages I don't see the point here :koons:

NEON pictures picked up “vox lux”—they were responsible for “i, Tonya” last year. We in danger, girls.

Eh. There's a good chance they'll run Natalie in Supporting, since she's apparently only in half the movie. And the reviews so far have been... let's just say less effusive than for ASIB. And I haven't seen a single review note anything about the original music, so doubt it's competition there either.

Seems unlikely for best picture nom after reading some of the reactions and reviews so far.

Also, a lot of “experts” expecting her to push for supporting actress nom instead of best actress cause she’s only in half of the movie.

Probably depends on how hard NEON pushes for this and their campaigning.

Awardscircuit review mentioned the Sia-produced music as being a potential for best original song

Right now, everything has "potential." (Awards Circuit also lists Bohemian Rapsody as having a shot at Best Original Song, even though it is basically confirmed there are no new/eligible songs from that movie.) My point is just that, in all of the talk about Vox Lux, and I have read a fair amount, I've not seen a single person highlight anything about the original music, which doesn't bode well for it.

Guys what about mary poppins 2? Do You think it could be nominated or win for Best song?

There's a good chance it will get a nomination, just being Disney. Too early to say whether it could win or even be stiff competition; depends on if the music is well-liked. But apparently it's not written by Lin Manuel Miranda, which makes it less of a threat atm.

Sia makes songs for soundtracks literally every year for several movies. I definitely don't see her as a big competitor. Especially with Vox Lux, which doesn't seem to have a "popular appeal".

Yes, most likely.
