I read somewhere that TIFF due to the success of ASIB added extra screenings of the movie this week (Wednesday and Thursday as I remember good). And the reviews so far have been... let's just say less effusive than for ASIB. And I haven't seen a single review note anything about the original music, so doubt it's competition there either. We in danger, girls. Seems unlikely for best picture nom after reading some of the reactions and reviews so far. Also, a lot of “experts” expecting her to push for supporting actress nom instead of best actress cause she’s only in half of the movie. (Awards Circuit also lists Bohemian Rapsody as having a shot at Best Original Song, even though it is basically confirmed there are no new/eligible songs from that movie.) My point is just that, in all of the talk about Vox Lux, and I have read a fair amount, I've not seen a single person highlight anything about the original music, which doesn't bode well for it. There's a good chance it will get a nomination, just being Disney. Too early to say whether it could win or even be stiff competition; depends on if the music is well-liked.
