S0436 10,215
Surely by next week most major reviews will be completed and RT can update BEFORE October. People will look at RT and decide on booking cinema tickets in about 3 weeks time.

Also, i need to stop clicking on effin Spoilers expecting funny remarks, because i just spoiled myself. If you're gonna make it your own, you need to change the entire storyline though. The movie is a huge phenomenon and Kendrick is a very strong name. I don't think ASIB will have an easy competition in any way. Superhero movies rarely get nominated though, even in the music category. Has Marvel or DC ever gotten a nomination for Original Song before?

The fact that they introduced Best Popular Film is even more evidence that they don't want to give Black Panther a Best Picture nomination, which they do not deserve. What Black Panther does this award season would be unprecedented. A lot of predictions are thinking that a lock for Best Song nom is All The Stars and IMO it sounds very likely. There’s always a pop song or two from a major movie in the category (Happy, Earned It, Can’t Stop The Feeling etc.). headspin, happiness, DE̤̣A̢̯͔̘T͏͙̗̟̫H̗̙͡ͅ

Except those are not superhero movies, and two of the examples you'd given are from animated films which are a favourite of the Oscars. I don't see how All the Stars is a good complement towards the film though, it was just played in the background during a scene and the song sounds like a normal pop song that is being forcefully 'fitted' into the movie. Yeah that's why I said they're 'pop songs from a major movie'. Again, Black Panther's award run is unprecedented. There's going to be no examples of previous superhero songs being nominated because a superhero has never been THIS critically successful so far. 4 minutes ago, Bradley said: I don't see how All the Stars is a good complement towards the film though, it was just played in the background during a scene and the song sounds like a normal pop song that is being forcefully 'fitted' into the movie. It doesn't have to be a good compliment, Earned It wasn't vital to 50 Shades at all, but it peaked at #4 and it was made for a movie, so it was nominated. Meanwhile, All The Stars and Pray For Me both peaked at #7 and it's from a critically acclaimed movie... at least one Black Panther song is pretty much a lock. headspin, happiness, DE̤̣A̢̯͔̘T͏͙̗̟̫H̗̙͡ͅ
