I remember The Fame was one of the first albums I listened to, my parents bought it because they wanted to hear that song that was always on the radio (think you can guess which one) and we just kept the CD on repeat for months. THEN the fame monster came out which also was just the best thing i've ever heard, I remember watching the telephone MV for hours and hours, I was so obsessed. Along the line I realized who I was as a person through music and realized that wouldn't of happened if some rah rah bitch didn't release such powerful stuff, so I thank you Gaga  :sara:  also thank you GGD for making me feel like I belong somewhere :kara:

I'm gonna listen to it right now. I've never listened to Mylène before.

I've only listened Alizée, Kendji Girac, Zaz, Émilie Simon, Louane, Emmanuel Moire and some couple of songs from others.

Do you think I should begin with this album or with another one?

this is the album I started with and i loved it!

fun fact: Mylène also launched Alizée’s career in 2000, she wrote her first 2 albums and produced it with Laurent Boutonnat (Mylène’s producer) :)

Mylène Farmer - ‘Innamoramento’

the album is by French Queen of Pop Mylène Farmer. While I don’t completely understand French, it’s helped me alot. The album is mainly new wave with some elements of alternative rock, electronica, pop, techno and gothic rock.

The album deals with many topics such as death, the Holocaust, and incest.

Favorite Songs

Pas le temps de vivre - this is actually my favorite song of hers. It’s about the passing of her brother and dealing with such a loss. I first heard it at the time of a passing of a family member who i love very much :noparty:

Souviens-toi du jour - based on the book ‘If This is a Man’ by Holocaust survivor Primo Levi, it deals with remembering the faults and the inhumanity of mankind. While the theme seems rather sad, the instrumental sounds very nice and danceable while also very poweful.

Optimistique-moi - this song is a very powerful and hard hitting song. It deals with a relationship between a child and her parents. It’s kind of like a dialogue between her mother and herself with her mother criticizing her (Mylène), with her father comforting her but also doing very awful things (incest)

I really hope you give it a listen :worship2:

no album has changed anything for me. the closest thing music has come to changing my life is lady gaga in general. She changed my interests and made me start giving a crap about pop culture. Before her i barely knew what albums and singles were, and I only started stanning a few months ago! lmao

None. But few albums helped me with my mental state:

ARTPOP: Helps me to express my creativity through digital art.

Lust For Life / Honeymoon: Helped me to start writing my own songs and see the World like a better place.

Dozens of albums changed my life, but I'll just cover like, the first 3/5 that come to my mind.

All of Michael Jackson's albums, (but mainly, "The Essential Michael Jackson"

0000312661.jpg

This was the first Michael Jackson that was given to me and ever since then I've fell in love with music and him. I remember listening to Billie Jean, P.Y.T., Another Part of Me, Will You Be There and Dangerous non-stop. Other albums like Bad, Dangerous and HIStory have really changed my perception on sound and the art in his work.

Lady Gaga - "Born This Way"

Lady-Gaga-Born-This-Way-Special-Edition-

This album opened my eyes as an 11 year old and really changed my life. 'Born This Way' has inspired me tremendously and I'll never be able to make it up to her.

Justin Bieber - "Believe"

I cannot even explain how this album has changed me. I love this album more than some of my family members :ohwell:

Taylor Swift - "1989" & Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation 1814"

There's millions more, believe me...

Theres several but I guess I'd have to say Manson's Antichrist Superstar because it gave me such an outlet for years as a teenager.

Also Fiona's The Idler Wheel...for being my fave album of all time.

The Born This way time was amazing too tho!

And Madonna's American Life for being there when I needed it.

Really for me it was The Fame, i was like six years old when i found out about gaga and bitch please i was all over that **** and then I stopped listening to her and someone brought her up on the superbowl and I rebought the fame and then i knew virtually none of the songs except paparazzi, just dance and poker face and I wasnt sure how much I was going to like it but then oh boy. I have all of her albums now and Im trying to compile more and more of her unreleased stuff which is my bye far favorite hobby besides drawing nd shopping, but that album was like a ****ing rebirth to me it was more of a woah holy crap this is gold and it just keeps getting better, and she just makes me soo happy i cant describe it but like yeah. Also send me those LeAks bBY tHnKs

Inferno

Its impossible for me to say one artist or album changed my life. Theyve all just been apart of my life in one way or another serving as the soundtrack to my existence lol

Woohoo

I was convinced and I;m and outcast and unloved from my friends and family for being different and visualizing everything in my unique ways, until this came along.

"I heard if you record Gaga snoring and play it backward it sounds like an act. 2 unreleased."
