American Oxygen is a song with a direct meaning and message whereas 7/11 is just a basic dance song with mediocre lyrics. Doesn’t Bey have some really great Writting on Lemonade? I didn’t just pick those two as a whole they’re just examples. They obviously have more songs where they are credited as “songwriters”. AO doesn't have a direct meaning at all. Its vague lyrics about being american but it doesnt allude to any sort of position. Is it patriotic? is it a commentary? is it satire? there doesnt seem to be any depth at all, its just made to sound as though it has depth. its a masquerade.
