maybe JD but Monster? no, gaga's dark theatricality makes the entire TFM

it wouldn't be the same if it was katy or kesha

Ok, fair. But my point is that most of Gaga's songs on The Fame and some on TFM were that synthpop which was it at the time.

well at the time, TF was actually pretty fresh but aging has made it look generic now and songs like Bad Romance were VERY different

TF and TFM really did impact the music scene

This was 2010. She wasn't wrong.
Don't tell me Kesha or Katy couldn't do Just Dance or Monster

No they couldn't do that. Gaga paved the way for them to be able to do that.

Look at the kind of stuff Rihanna was doing before Lady Gaga ffs. It's the epitome of generic.

Rihanna doesn't even write anything does she?

Epione

Not really. Her voice is cracking, she can’t really sing, her gangster persona seems fake. Maybe she’s a better makeup brand than an artist.

I mean, anyone could sing LoveGame and Poker Face. After Gaga (among others) popularised that style of pop music, they would've fit on Kesha's Animal/Cannibal, Rihanna's Rated R, Britney's Blackout or Circus, JLo's Love? and others.

No? Not anyone could sing LoveGame or Poker Face. Can you imagine Ariana Grande or Katy Perry sing LoveGame?

I mean technically they could sing it but they wouldn't be able to bring out the essence of the song like Gaga did, not to mention the visuals and live performances and the energy that accompany it are even more difficult to pull off.

No I can't believe you think any of those artists could sing Poker Face or LoveGame.

Ariana certainly ouldn't, but the artists I mentioned could. They probably wouldn't be as iconic, and they'd have different energy, but (for example) LoveGame would've fit right in with Tik Tok, Your Love Is My Drug and Blow, if it were on Kesha's record.

The point is that sonically, the way the production is, multiple songs from The Fame would've fit on most pop albums between 2007 and 2011.

Thing is I do Michael Jackson's songs during karaoke sometimes, but obviously I will never be able to bring out the energy and vibes that Michael did.

Yeah. They wouldn't have the same energy, but they'd fit in.
