'I can't elevate it to the point where I become GaGa again'

I honestly think she was just doing what gaga does. She always says stuff and backtracks 2 seconds afterwards. She’s all over the place all the time with literally everything. She went on and on about how Joanne had no concept and then 2 second later described a fully realized concept. I think her work benefits from this though.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

yes, everybody was like: wow this is gaga?? because they were so used to her weirdness

but at the op i also think that she meant that only about the joanne era, because it was very logical for her to strip down for that era. plus when she was shooting pi video she said that: i know that some fans will be dissapointed by my outfit but that doesnt mean that i dont love the avant-guard fashion that i have worn before.

This is what I wish some monsters would understand. Deep down she will always be the girl who wore a meat dress and showed up to the Grammys in an egg. She will always be quirky. That's just who she is. Wearing jeans and a tshirt doesnt mean she's abandoned who she is. Also some say that her love for her monsters was a marketing ploy because she doesn't say "I love you" and "paws up" 50 times a day. As she said during the Joanne tour in Hamburg Germany while reading a fan letter "some think that this doesnt matter anymore (insert monster paw) because we're older but this will matter for the rest of my life". We are her world. Nothing will ever change that. I mean to quote 5 foot 2 "my fans are my heart and soul".

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

I don't think we get the "old" TF, TFM, BTW or AP Gaga back. She's changed over the past few years and that's perfect. I think in the future we will see Gaga being "gaga" again, but more mature and more aware of the issues being in our world (not that she wasn't aware before :trollga: ). I mean, take these fantastic photos of yesterday. They're not just "weird", but have a deeper meaning about the trend of photoshop and criticizing everything one someone's body. I don't think Gaga from 5 years ago would've interpreted this topic the way she does it now. And tbh, I'm so here for it and cannot wait to witness.mp3 the new, more mature CrazyGa :firega:  :diane:

I think a more self-aware, sober CrazyGa could potentially be a more artistic CrazyGa with a clearer message.

This. For anyone who went to the JWT, it was easy to see that Gaga was there. It was all very Gaga, it was just matured, more centered and grounded.

I feel like shes definitely going to do dark, crazy and edgy, but I dont think we will ever get stuff like ARTPOP crazy or Meat dress or anything again. I think she has realized herself, like someone said before, she doesn't have those insecurities anymore. So shes gonna be fierce, shes gonna be high fashion, shes gonna be dark, but shes gonna do it as someone who knows exactly who and what she is, and what she wants to say.

The point of stripping everything back, was to give herself a breather, for me. So she could be Gaga, but not have to be in 10inch heels and constant elaborate costume. Shes still weird, shes still dark, she is still Mother Monster.

Gaga becomes immersed in the aesthetic of the era she is in and kind becomes the persona she is trying to portray at the time. Joanne was stripped back, thus Gaga herself became stripped back.

Looking forward, when Gaga is in a new era, with new ideas, new inspirations and outlooks, she will evolve into a different persona once again. Maybe ARTPOP over-the-top-ness era Gaga will never come back, but she won't be as stripped back as she was in FF2 for a long time.

She will be back as a different Gaga from what we've seen during Joanne, ARTPOP, BTW, TFM.

REALITY

What I take from that statement is that she can no longer elevate to the point at which she once was. She was on top of the world, she was the world's #1 pop star, she had best selling hits, she was selling out stadiums, she was wearing huge costumes, etc.; however, with all of that stardom and fame came a lot of mental, physical, and emotional damage.

I don't think it was a statement based off of her extravagant persona and outlandish getups, but instead, a statement based on her previous fame and success. Of course, she's not done with being "crazy" and "over the top," that's who she is. What she's saying is that while she still can and will do those things, she can't elevate to a point where it interferes with her mental, physical, and emotional health. That, in turn, drives the point of the quote, "because then it's like, what was the point of even making this record (Joanne)." Joanne was a return to who Gaga was before the fame (something she put in her Twitter bio early in the era). It was about her taking off the "persona" of Gaga and being open and honest about her own personal life. And while there were struggles throughout Joanne, overall, it helped her mentally, physically, and emotionally. It was a nice 'breath of fresh air' after everything she's experienced and gone through. I believe that's what she means by the fact that she can't elevate "it to becoming Lady Gaga again."

One more thing: "become Lady Gaga again" - the "Lady Gaga" here is what people think she is, rather than how she views herself. She talked about (in a Joanne interview) how "Gaga" had become not just who she is but also what people project and want of her - it's this ownership that the public feels over her.

So you're absolutely right. She can't elevate herself to ruling the world again, living as much as possible to please fans, and risking her own health for it again.

Enigma: a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand. Gaga called her Vegas residency this because she is an enigma. She can't be labeled because she is always changing. She changes in every album. The Fame = Crazy and satirical. The Fame Monster = Deep and dark. Born This Way = Crazy and inspirational. ARTPOP = A bit too crazy without enough meaning but still making bops. Joanne = Stripped back to recover from ARTPOP, being meaningful. Well, that's how I personally see it. She has changed again, and now she's crazy Gaga and there's Enigma and crazy photoshoots. However, there's also a kind of Joanne feeling from ASIB. She will never stop being different and creative, but she can be different and creative in more nuanced ways, like Joanne. In short, no, she's not going to be Joanne forever. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

P.S. I'm not hating on ARTPOP and do see it as a really good album, but I'm trying to be honest and less biased. Please set Applause as my ringtone. :bye:
