I think we all might me a bit biased, but Bad Romances impact can't be denied, everybody knows it every crowd no matter what age goes crazy when it's played, my grandma knows it, it's just That song. And Gaga as a person is more known all around the world, her power when she was on top stays untouched. I mean this as no shade but almost nobody older than 50 knows who Beyoncé is in Europe, especially white people. So I don't think you're far from the truth.

This though

I kissed a girl and California girls are both pretty iconic wym :triggered:

Firework and Roar are probably Katy's most famous songs

I Kissed a Girl - maybe, but it's pretty much forgotten in my opinion.

California Gurls was super successful at the time, but I don't feel like it had a global impact on the level of Poker Face and Bad Romance.

Poker Face and Bad Romance are more iconic than California Gurls yes. But California Gurls isnt too far behind its still big enough to be remembered as one of the smashes of this decade.

I think IKAG and CG are bigger though. Firework doesnt get played really now on radio here and Roar was big but by 2014 the radios seemed to discard it completely! The video for Roar is iconic though but is a bit cringeworthy.

Yeah, some of Gaga's hits are more known than what the charts are saying for example Judas might have been kinda a "flop" but this is a really known song, Alejandro is actually way much better known than what the charts are saying and etc

Alejandro is massive here and across all of europe!!!!  The summer of 2010 was dominated by alejandro everywhere i went in 2010 ibiza benidorm france italy greece played it like every 10 mins it was an inescapable phenomenon was alejandro.

Lord Temptation

The “problem” with Teenage Dream is that she had five number one hits from the one album (not that it’s a real problem :bon: :reductive:, I wish I had that problem ). Each hit was equally massive therefore none of them stand out. Kind of a catch 22, when you have that many hits from a single album people get information overload and jumble them up. It all becomes a blur. There is no “signature” hit.

Katy’s most iconic, global hits are “I Kissed a Girl” and “Roar”. On Teenage Dream I would say “Firework” is probably the most recognisable hit.

EDIT: back to the OP, I agree that Gaga has more “iconic” hits. It’s a combination of catchiness (hooks, melody), her genre-bending, her quirky videos that make you ponder the meaning of it all, and how drastic Gaga seems to change her entire aesthetic, even her speaking voice and mannerisms change from era to era - that make Gaga’s hits so era-defining. She mixes old or classical with new and then gives it a Gaga twist.

Skskks I doubt most middle aged persons from Russia will know BR or PF. or know who sang it.

You're wrong. Everybody knows who sings BR and PF in Russia. They know her only as the Rah-Rah-Rah hermaphrodite in the meat dress ofc and nothing special.

Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No

Well I'm from Asia. Most of my friends don't listen to English songs. But when I say Katy Perry they can only come up with Firework and Roar. (or maybe Dark Horse)

Pokerface is more known than any of her peers hits. And if you play "ra ra" people.will be able to guess its LG even if they don't know the song.

(Baby One More time and Single.Ladies are more known but you excluded them)

It wasn't even a hit WW...not a lot of people know it.

Bad Romance (and to lesser extents Poker Face and Born This Way) is more iconic than anything Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Kesha, etc. have ever released.

Crazy in Love might be the only song by a contemporary that is on the same level.

No.

I mean, hits like Anaconda and Stupid Hoe by Nicki are way more iconic than Bad Romance for example.

Gaga's hits are ok. But Nicki's are next level.

Adele's hits are definitely bigger classics and will be more remembered years down the road, especially RITD & SLY

Poker Face & Bad Romance are more well known than all the other pop girl songs (Hips Don't Lie is the only other rival), then there's a huge gap, then there's Just Dance & Born This Way, and then an even bigger gap until you get to songs like Paparazzi/Alejandro/Applause/TEOG.
