So Twin Peaks cameraman Manolo Rojas, who also worked with Gaga, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey (he says he was very disappointed with Mariah because of her diva attitude), granted an interview in which he speaks about how was filming with Gaga on G.U.Y. MV. It's no big thing but I found it interesting. It's in Spanish, Gaga's (and Mariah's) part starts at minute 49, so I've translated and summarized it for you. Sorry if my English is too bad, I've tried to make it understandable.

MR: [...] the one that surprised me -and I don't even follow her music but I fell in love with her- was Lady Gaga. I had always thought of her... I don't know, but because of the way she dress I used to believe she was -musically speaking- more rebellious, but it was the opposite. I filmed the video at Hearst Castle. The music video was big, so we spent 5 days at a little village called San Simeon and we occupied all the hotels, so people who were there on a vacation hated us, but natives loved us. The film crew consisted of 200 people, with artistic crew and extras add up a total of 500 people. It was amazing, one of the biggest teams I've filmed with.

There were 19 swimmers who were little girls. Pools were empty, so they were filled with water that came from springs right there. The water was extremely cold, but those girls bravely went into the water - I wouldn't have done it even if they paid me- and danced. 2 of them had to leave the water with their lips turned purple and had to be treated for the hypothermia. It was very hard. When the filming ended we were around the pool, then Lady Gaga grabbed a microphone and then she said "I wanna thank everyone for this music video. This is not my achievement - it belongs to all of you. I want you to feel part of it". And then she went into the pool, crossed it and said "especially the swimmers". And then she went where they were, she hugged and kissed each of them. It was very kind of her. She's a wonderful and very decent person, I mean, she crossed the pool just to hug and kiss the swimmers. And then she let them to take all the photos they wanted with her.

The first day of shooting the director of photography came and introduced us. He was like "Gaga, this is Manolo" and she was like "Oh Manolo, it's a pleasure having you here". And then, when we were shooting, I was like "Could you move a little, please?", she agreed and she was like "Manolo, it is okay like that?" She was exquisite and very communicative, she even took care to know what my name was.

Your english was perfect I think
Gaga is such an angel, going in the freezing water to hug the dancers and show compassion was really nice of her. This video is seriously underrated tbh, even by us little monsters

Oh so that's why those dancers looked so miserable (especially during the scene where Gaga is carried into the pool by them) :air:

There hasn't been a single collaborator over the years that hasn't praised Gaga for her manners, professionalism and behaviour (Well, except for Jenniferella but that's another story :rip:). She's Lady Freakin' Gaga but she's always kind and respectful to everyone she works with and she never had a diva moment. We should be really proud of her as a human (and of her parents for raising her like that) :worship2:

Love that some positivity came out of the ARTPOP era (I love AP, it’s saying there’s so much negativity surrounding it)

In short, he says he used to be a Mariah fan. His agent got him a music video with her so he was very excited. When he arrived to the recording studio, they were setting up a huge tent with lots of ornaments, leather armchairs, red carpets, etcetera. He thought they were for the MV but they were actually only for Mariah. He says she didn't even look at their team and that it was annoying to film with her.

Also, as for Britney, he says she was adorable.

500 people?! :duck: why so many?

He's counting all the extras. At the end of the video there were A LOT of men coming out of the castle.
