We could take them but had to hand them over to the secretary until classes were over. It’s not that big a deal but I’m sure most of the comments will say otherwise. StarstruckIllusion 53,680
Tragic. Canada actually embraces them and a lot of it lessons and homework was online and stuff. We even used this graphic app called Desmos in math to help us understand better. Ugh our minds. Poor French kids. Also trash at most of these comments. We shouldn’t celebrate a regression just bc you lived your life in the past. Imagine if cars were suddenly banned and people started having to use horses again? Imagine saying that wouldn’t piss you off. And yet the people in the 1800s wouldn’t be mad at it at all but no one today would consider them a standard of living in 2018. And I thought France was a progressive country oof. Where’s that French Revolution energy when you need it

Bloody hooker 6,445
At my old high school here in the U.S., starting in 2014 they allowed us to use our cellphones only during lunch, and quite possibly during class only if our teachers allowed us. This was most likely due to our school district getting personal laptops for all students. Why is France being messy? The schools should already have rules in the handbooks regarding cellphone, and the teacher should enforce them. Just straight banning them is terrible. This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.
GypsyBabe 22,836
I’m older so my time in middle school/high school didn’t really have smartphones, more like the regular flip phones...but if a teacher saw one out then they would take it and leave it in the principals office. But my generation could function without cell phones because it was common to not have them. People still had house phones and you knew everyones phone numbers off the top of your head including your parents work numbers. If a parent was going to be late then they called the school...etc... When I got to college though, everyone had their smartphones out and it was really annoying, distracting, and disrespectful to the teacher and other students. Classrooms are for learning, not for surfing twitter. Otherwise you should just stay home. It’s not like you are absorbing the knowledge anyway. Also, with online bullying being so rampant, I really feel like removing phones from school is a good idea. When my sister was in highschool, it was not uncommon for girls to tweet out mean things about their classmates during classes. ⚯͛
RAMROD 118,011
That's cool. Kids need to socialize and do some productive activities again at school as they should be. Then go home when school's out and updating their twitter or whatever. Imagine saying that wouldn’t piss you off. It’s not a regression though. School is for using your mind and developing social skills. Social media does neither...and that is what most people are doing on their phones in school. It is great that Canada tries to incorporate the use of cell phones into their curriculum as cell phone use during class time is inevitable, but I see no problem with what France is doing. Cell phones, though they can be beneficial in some instances, are a distraction. ⚯͛

I'm kinda happy about being apart of the simpler times just before everything turned into how it is now I mean I remember having tapes and pretty much no internet, not having DVDs and CDs and I feel for kids who never had to go through those struggles I mean imagine not knowing TV was always live and only had 5 channels that worked unless you weren't semi-poor
