Let me explain: I feel like Gaga is afraid of releasing "hit" songs or BIG songs, how you'd prefer to call them, ever since ARTPOP happened. And no, I'm not blaming the so called "flop" she suffered, because we know it sold really well compared to other albums back then. But she seems to be working with successful producers all the time, only to scrap their material later and make different sounds. RedOne, DJWS, SOPHIE, the cancelled ACT II, FRANKENSTEINED, etc, etc. All of them, canceled, forever.

Joanne is gold, but the genre is totally different from what she was doing at first for LG5. We got a more relaxed theme, yet dark and more relatable than her past albums, but no sign of the pop music everybody was hinting/hyping at the beginning.

Do you think our girl is unconsciously afraid?

why are you assuming DJWS and SOPHIE have been taken off LG6 when we don't know that for sure?

it's only been one pop album since ARTPOP so i would wait until LG6 comes out. the whole "original LG5" thing is something all of her albums have, the Joanne demos are likely nothing special

Releasing an ablum just because you have enough songs recorded is not really a good idea.

She's not Drake.

She serves quality over quantity, when she knows she has an album togehter as well a full strategy planned out, then she is going to release one.
Maybe she had the songs for Act II or the original LG5, but no real strategy other than "hey guys here's more stuff" while media was bashing her left and right during AP.

And obviously her acting career took off, so she was for months fully booked.

But I think she has big things planned for LG6.
She doesn't need to tell everyone she has talent to do other gernes or go "back to her roots" anymore.
She isn't shooting a TV series or a full movie right now.

If she wants to focus on a full blown pop era, now is the time

We can’t say SHOPIE's work is scrapped when we don’t even have a single clue of what the album is like.

Like, we know it’s very techno and stuff but Gaga changes things quickly :huntyga:

I feel like when Gaga gets an artistic vision that sits strongly with her, she feels the need to follow it through, even  if is a complete turn around in outlook. I personally think the sound of Joanne came from a woman who was in extreme pain physically and mentally and felt like stripping everything down to make it easier on herself and to also show she is way more versatile than the GP believed her to be; along with going back to her roots of friends and family for support. Plus, can you imagine Gaga walking in those signature platform shoes with all the pain she has had during that time?

I wouldn't say "traumatized". I think she learned a lot during the ARTPOP era and grew up as an artist. She seems to be more aware of her work, more perfectionist and careful with her releases. She also seems to have learned to deal with the media, which is amazing. I see nothing but growth and evolution in her journey.

Hmm not really... Gaga and Joanne producers thought Perfect Illusion was going to be a hit. I think Mark even said Hey Girl could be a hit too.

We don't really know about the RedOne stuff from 2015. Angel Down is one of the 8 songs so is Frankensteined so they could be half ballads  and she didn't scrap DJWS and Sophie...yet :poot:

Lady Gaga doesn't really care much about the charts. I don't think that how the media perceived ARTPOP would make her have trauma regarding the charts.

Perhaps. I dont think she scraps material just for the sake of it the way some of yall like to make it out lol She just makes music and a lot of it she doesnt like so she cancels it BUT I do think she has become a bit more reserved and scared to venture off sonically too left field because of the horrible reception ARTPOP got and the media witch hunt she faced which was accentuated by her own personal struggles during that time both mentally and with her management.

Gaga did VERY much care about the charts actually and the under performance of ARTPOP did effect her and it was pretty obvious to see. However I do think she doesn't care anymore. I think the Cheek To Cheek era helped heal her and shift her perception of what "real success" means.

I'm talking about the already scrapped work from LG5 :spin: No mention of LG6 here, I hope she releases big songs now!
