if the trailer is anything to go by, her version is actually pretty different :poot:

Barbara sounds pretty insecure tbh

I kind of just assumed she meant more in line with hers by comparison to the other one. Not shade.

I can't help but say... ok? Kinda pointless article

Exactly. This is the perfect first response to this thread and I thank you.

It being out of competition really doesn't mean anything. Plenty of films played out of competition at Venice and went on to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscar (Call Me By Your Name) being one example.

Barbara is shady diva though. That’s why she’s a gay icon! She’s probably happy to get attention from the press of the remake and will make everything about her. Love her for it!

Here's what I believe is going on...

There are people in the business who are still not on the "A Star is Born" train and are looking to stir some negative commentary despite the unanimous praise coming in from all areas.

I believe this will be a critically acclaimed film (much to the critics surprise) with a series of wins at the awards ceremonies leading to the Oscars.

I believe it will gross over $100 million by Christmas (with the full support and backing of theater owners across America who smell a mega hit).

I believe the soundtrack will be an enormous triumph with numerous singles in the top 10.

This film is a juggernaut.

I , in fact, believe the Gaga fans are not prepared for whats about to happen to her.

She will move into a really rarefied air that few have ever occupied. She will be in line with Sinatra, Cher, Streisand, Diana Ross.

I know everyone is thinking of LG6 but they should be entirely focused on ASIB..

She's about to become the biggest star her generation ever produced..

I didn't notice u said this

It's very rare for sound tracks to have more than 1 hit even in more successful movies than the grossing u just mentioned. I don't see how realistic that is

One hit maybe. But I doubt they will even try to promote more than one as a single

The only way I'd see that not being the case is if LG6 was also her soundtrack and that's what she chose to make her entire era. Then on that case it's at least possible

There is a chance a few songs from the soundtrack could be hits because she is a singer afterall.  The Bodyguard spawned 3 hit singles.

The film isn’t even out yet and people are saying it will get awards or not get awards like can we just wait till the film is out and then see what people are saying about it. 🙃

ASIB isn’t premiering at Telluride because tiff basically doesn’t allow it. Films that premiere at Telluride first are banned from premiering at the three key venues in Toronto.

And if you want your movie to be hyped for the Oscars, all filmmakers know it’s better to make a splash at tiff.

Im surprised the Hollywood Reporter hasn’t pieced this together.

Economy - I disagree.Respectfully...

I think as Gaga Fans we now need to think outside of the box.

This is going to be bigger and with more impact then we expected. Great Grandmothers are going to buy this and go to the movie...

Watch the reaction videos on you tube to the trailer...... there is near unanimous support and they all love the Shallow and that's not even the hit single.

The final song is the one to watch out for.

I am telling you now the final 15 minutes of this film is all Gaga and the final 6 minutes will be one final song..

All her..

If she pulls off the final 15 minutes..if she kills it...

...she will be nominated for an Oscar.

Guys   do your homework...lololo

The finale of the 1977 version of "A Star is Born"...the final 6 minutes..

Gaga's will end in a similar fashion..It will only be Gaga on screen...

Thus..Barbra's comment...(and Barbra has been unbelievably supportive by the way)

Titantic level success then, obvs. A ton of Oscars but like $1B at the box office and a hit single. :firega:

Spoiler

My heart will go on.

It is an R rated musical so there is a limit to the box office success it can get.

I look at 8 Mile as an example - Eminem, R rated, music drama - $242million worldwide
