I'm heading into my senior year and our final requirement before graduating is a thesis project in which we write, produce, and direct our own 10-15 minute short film. I have been thinking about, planning, and writing the script I intend to produce for well over a year and I am incredibly excited to share it with the world. I decided to post some info about it here because the story revolves around the NYC club scene around the time of LG's debut and features some of her friends (ie Semi Precious Weapons)Magnetic Baby is the coming of age tale of a young teenage boy struggling to come to terms with his identity. In an attempt to find himself and an act of rebellion, he sneaks out to attend a rock concert to see his secret favorite band. At the show, the boy becomes lost in a new world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll all at the hands of the glam rock band Semi Precious Weapons. Seeing the group perform is a moment of enlightenment for the boy and he feels right at home. After meeting various new faces, the boy ends up backstage, face to face with his newfound idles. What ensues is a night of carefree debauchery as the band introduces him to the New York City nightlight scene. Magnetic Baby aims to tell the story of a young boy struggling with his sexuality while on tour following a band struggling with their place in the music industry and how their stories align. Story is too long and theres too much happening.. I mean it would be AMAZING if you could fit all of that in a 10-15 minutes short film. Good luck with your project!
