As she stated, she was working on her record and they didn’t provide her clear info regarding the accent for the character and when you do method acting, you have to practice ALOT. 

I feel quite dubious about her version tbh as Kathy Bates confirmed that Lady Gaga and her had classes for the accent, each of them having their own acting teacher.

I see a lot of people over thinking plot lines and character continuity, as if this isn't a ridiculous show. If you want to enjoy American Horror Story you have to suspend reality, and relish the camp factor. It's a ridiculous show.

Gaga can portray the real Scathach, and she can portray the actress portraying Scathach, she can even portray Scathach the witch portraying Scarlet Johansson portraying Fantasia Barrino in an American Horror Story: The Fantasia Barrino Story. Who cares?

I see your point. We only saw a small glimpse of the real Scathach in the second half of the season, so who’s to say it wasn’t the same witch as before? But they gave no hint or suggestion of that at the time, so now it would just look like they backtracked to find a way to get Gaga on the new season. And, by the same token (because we never got a real glimpse of her and the actress is uncredited) they could have anyone play the ‘real’ Scatach now, it’s not like anyone will remember the brief appearance the character made in the second half.

It just seems really clunky and it would be relying on people remembering the Roanoke twist, but somehow also explaining that all of them were actors, apart from Scathach who was actually the real witch all along. If they can find a clever way to do it that makes sense for the plot of S8 then I’m on board, but otherwise it’ll be a big old mess. 

But then again, maybe there was a reason we didn’t get a good look at the ‘real’ Scathach and why we didn’t see Gaga’s character outside of MRN as the actress doing press, like we saw all the other characters do. I think the actual reason is probably Gaga’s schedule, rather than them having a grand plan to bring Scatach back two years later and reveal it was the same witch all along. Like I said though, if they bring her back as the witch and they do it in a convincing way then I’m down with it.

I would be definitely here for it! When she wasn’t in NY most of the time she was at home in LA, so in theory she had enough time to play at least a supporting role

Tea, she honestly could return as Scathach and not just the actor, although I wouldn't mind her returning as The Countess, or an entirely new character.

That said, as much as I would love for her to return, I don't know if that's in the air.

People dismissing this cause she had a stressful day shooting one scene where she didnt have enough time to practice her accent.   Shooting a show like AHS is not easy, it's not like idk Modern Family or Pretty Little Liars. A lot of accents and different stages of filming go into it and obviously it won't be a snowflake of an experience, and I'm sure Gaga knows this.

They would be filming now-ish through the fall, seems like a conflict with her ASIB premieres and promotion... I would stan so hard for Gaga in an AHS Season 3 crossover, all I've ever wanted was for her to be in a glam witch gang with Stevie Nicks   If she does have a part, I'll bet it's smaller and only in 1 or 2 eps.
