Not so funny fact:

A friend of mine threw a party and spinned BTW. 4 of the people booed saying "Come on man! We are no ... the *F* word." When he insisted it was a cool song no matter the lyrics, they said they used to like Gaga until this song.

Contrast:

I lived to see the rise of Gaga back in 2008 and Just Dance was the song that whenever started playing in the clubs everyone went crazy and went asking the DJ who the artist was.

Since you kindly noted... No. Fact is i enjoy both songs and i guess even more BTW. It's not what I think of BTW. It's what str8s/GP think of it in countries that are not so liberal in terms of sexuality freedom like mine

Born This Way is revered as one of the most important records being released in the music industry, and has been known as an iconic LGBT anthem among the public. Every time pride is being celebrated, Born This Way is inevitably mentioned and is almost included in every playlist which has something to do with pride.

It was #1 for six weeks on the Hot 100 and became the fastest-selling song on iTunes and sold more than 8 million copies worldwide.

It's one of the best examples to be raised when we talk about how Gaga has been active in advocating LGBT rights (amongst all that she has done for the community) and this is concrete proof that she does more than sing club bangers or love songs when she could actually be making some social changes to society instead.

Perhaps some homophobic people like the four who booed at the song might not appreciate it, but what I'm trying to say is that there are more people who applaud the importance of the song than those who do not.

BTW will forever be an iconic LGBT anthem. Just Dance will be on "The greatest hits from the 2000s" albums. Although they would rather choose Pokerface I guess.

The Sales of Just Dance probably puts it higher....it sold 5 million more... Also, Just Dance spent more weeks on charts ww, Alejandro just stayed more weeks in Czech Republic and replace Applause with BTW, even Telephone is a bigger hit than Applause.

Just Dance. This isn't even a doubt - it was her first hit, everybody remembers it as the debut of Gaga, far less controversial than BTW, etc

Literally any song from Born This Way would have been #1 for at least 6 weeks though, and several songs would have done better than it did

You state facts.

But the thread is talking about success.

By the term I guess @KatieJudasGaga4meant commercial success. And when we talk about commercial success GP is not considered just fans and gay community.

Just Dance is worldwide more successful than BTW.

If we talk about quality obviously tables turn.

I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love.

Lord Temptation

Born This Way is one of the most powerful statements ever made by an artist ever. It’s time has yet to come tbh. The rock influences weren’t what the EDM-obsessed 2011 crowd were expecting. Neither was the monstrous metal-flesh aesthetic. But that was the point : it will only get the love it deserves when the world is ruled by love and not...whatever the hell it is right now.

The song is a poem. And anthem. A declaration. And a celebration of a beautiful world waiting to happen.

If you wanted to answer the OP, you should have only mentioned statistics and facts, not make the statement that it is known to the public for all the wrong reasons, when it is not. There are more who appreciate the song than those who do not.

I was addressing that statement that you made which is completely erroneous and irresponsible.
