This is the problem. I have to paraphrase because a direct quotation is impossible and you know it is. Why? Because you're irrational.  I have no "passion" for this subject, I think it's pathetic that humans can still wilfully be brainwashed in this way.

If you don't know how warfare is justified in the quran then that shoes yet more blind ignorance regarding a faith that targets that kind of person.

If you believe it and I don't, why is that any bother to You? The only problem here is "believers" whipping people etc. Ever seen an extremist non-believer? No.

You've willingly put yourself in the camp of people that openly hate. All religions are like that. I don't have to like it, you don't have to like my life choices, but go one further.. I don't even respect your choice. I think the choice to be part of any hateful religion (all of them pretty much.. maybe not Buddhist) knowing what you know about people who share the religion with you is a move and a stance in life that really shows the core of who you are.

"We aren't all bad" you would be if you followed the scriptures correctly. That's every religion. All disgusting. Look what your religions have done to the world and explain to me why I should make any acceptances for such human-hating as religion.

So many different religions rant and rave "you must do this, you must do that" Why? To get into your heaven filled with others like you? What a treat. No thanks, I'll take eternal damnation where people know they're evil and don't pretend.

Sick to death of it. It's not a "belief" it's what you've been conditioned to believe through years of fear. Time to grow up, the teddy bears aren't real.

Most ignorant thing I ever read on GGD. Congrats! Weird coming from someone who is close to LGBTQ community considering you literally hate religious people just because they believe in something. You are no better than homophobes believe me. You are even worse! Why? Cuz you are part of minority and you know about struggles people go tru but you sill choose to be ignorant. I have no words for you and what you wrote except: disgusting!

Why would I? You are equating homosexuality and a religion. No one choses to be gay while you can chose to follow an ideology. Anyway, there is no problem with Muslim who accept a secular society.

FINALLY. thank you was just about to say this. otherwise i have a hard time sympathizing with regina george over there....

I'm sorry but this situation is not a random, outlier of muslim culture.... thats why dozens of bystanders gathered around to yell "harder" and abuse thee couple.... thats not an isolated group of people....

I didn`t choose Muslim to be written in my ID. Yet I cannot change it. In Sharia law, apostasy is punished by death. We really have no way out.

Nah, it's the region and government that raised the people there. It's the same thing in the Middle East. Volatile areas where an ideology is law. Tbh, my only issue with some of the responses in this thread are the people blaming Muslims (the people) or blaming Islam as if any religion in a position of control or power wouldn't have deadly results for some group of people.

Spoiler alert:

Spoiler

It happens every time :laughga: literally every theocracy or religiously led society leads to genocides, wars, and/or hate. Hell, look what Christianity is currently doing to the U.S. Trump is our first (pseudo)pro-theocracy president in quite some time and here we sit in danger of losing abortion rights, women's health care rights, a myriad of LGBT rights, and racial oppression protections. Religion is a dangerous tool in the hands of the masses or in the hands of those that control the masses, it doesn't matter if it's Islam, Judaism, Christianity, or any other belief system.

And it can't be Muslims as people either. That's a seventh of the world's population :spin: if they're the bad guys then we'd all be dead right now. Millions manage to live happy, adjusted, and loving lives.

A bit more on topic: I wish we could evacuate all of our LGBT+ family from these nations that treat them so poorly :S no one deserves this.

Not even three posts in and there’s already historical revisionism taking place, great :huntyga: like I will actually literally pay $100 to someone who can find a prominent liberal that has seriously stated that Islam can not be criticized. Islam like any other religion is just a set of ideas and laws, completely open to criticism and ridicule. But please, let’s not pretend half the posts here aren’t thinly veiled code for “scary brown people”. It’s quickly jumping from criticism of ideas to criticism of people groups and it’s gross, especially when people try to use it as justification to treat immigrants like vermin. The fact that Muslims get the focus while Christian Africa that is rife with human rights violations or Buddhists that have violently attacked Muslims or American Christians that bomb abortion clinics or try to start race wars are ignored really just exposes what the main angle of “Islamic criticism” is.

Isn't it? I'm not sayin all of them are like that, but most problems i had a as a gay person was always with moslems, in front of the club, at the street etc, and that was in Munich.

And look what is happening to Europe right now, all the countries are turning to far right, because there are so many of them here right now. Afd is soon gonna be the second largest party in Germany...

Absolutely, every religion/ideology should be open for criticism and most are. Criticising christianity, judaism etc is fine for people but as soon as islam is brought into the mix its a point of contension for some reason, I don't get why

I think there is also a wide spread trend of using 'Islam' as a base to attack every brown skinned person. For example if I come to Europe you'd assume I'm a Muslim here to attack your moral ideas because of the color of my skin. I can assure you a lot of people also try to escape from the confinements of the sharia controlled government and their cruelty such as this  by moving to places where they believe they would be accepted to at least a certain degree. I know there are vile people of every religion but  while you guys condemn the acts against people living in these areas, you guys are also extremely against them trying to find a better life and shelter in your countries.

I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half

Linda Sarsour for example.

Also, not all Muslims are brown and not all brown people are Muslim. Islam is a Religion, not a race.

this is not meant to attack you, but this is such a dangerous sentiment. don't blame refugees for the rising of the the far right. many afd voters actually despise gay people and gay rights with a passion. imagine if other germans now started saying "ugh gay people, can't you just go into hiding again and not be so gay, because you're the reason the afd is winning". see the problem here? it's blaming the victim instead of supporting it. and what about the whipped and hanged gay muslims we talked about in this thread? they, too, are muslims. not everything is perfect rn, that's true, but give it some time. migration is always a multigenerational process

It's devastating to read this. I've been to Saudi-Arabia once and I saw a public hanging of two gay boys when my taxi drove to my congress. It's hard to realize that we live in the same world as those barbaric people. I hope we eventually go back to the days of the old Greeks and Romans where gay sex was completely normal and accepted by everyone.

I know you obviously just want to say you wish homosexuality was normalized and I'm 100% down with this. but I want to take this opportunity to mention that homosexuality and its treatment in ancient greece were quite multifaceted which many people don't know. in fact if you look at it by today's standards and morals, their relationship to homosexuality was quite ****ed up. it was a system at least partly build around honoring heroism, with highly pedophile (some transcripts even talk about "abductions" of boys) and misogynistic traits. and while the platonic bound of two heroic men was often times seen as honorable, the physical aspect was looked down upon by most as sinful

Linda Sarsour is pretty controversial and nowhere near a leftist figurehead, plus I’d love to see where she sees Islam can’t be criticized. Also yikes you’re proving my point. No Islam is not a race but you’re lying if you’re pretending that in western countries people don’t have a stereotypical idea of what a Muslim “looks like” much in the same way that if I said Buddhist most people would think of a person that looks east Asian in origin.

I get where you coming from, and that may be true to some degree, but not all of us are like this. People welcomed them with open arms, but we can't also deny that the clash of cultures is bringing many risks. And not all people who come here want to adapt, become a part of our society etc. Many come here just to live like they lived from where they came from + all the benefits they can get from the west.

I myself have just problem with religion per se, also Christianity, but Christianity is in the most west parts not that existent/relevant, where Islam is still alive, people still practice it, and also Islam is second largest religious group in German nowdays. And Islam will continue to grow and grow, and i don't like it, i don't want want to have to fight all those fights i had to fight years ago again and again (gay rights, woman rights etc).

If you are looking for a better life, leave everything that didn't give you a better life behind, your religion, your culture, start new, and fight with us for a better future, not against us. And i know that many already do this, to some degree, and i hate it to see them to have to suffer because of he newcomers who don't want to change.

@Fusel

Well, i have mentioned it on one of my posts, and i'm not for AfD never ever, nothing they stand for. I was shocked how many votes they got, but i also can understand why they got it.

You haven't said why. Are you suggesting that religious followers are a minority? They're not. Are you suggesting they're harmless and have no impact on my life? They're not and they sadly do. Perhaps you're suggesting they don't choose to follow their illogical beliefs. They do.

There is no reason why I should make exceptions for those that choose to hate, choose to support hate, and defer blame to an unanswerable deity.

Preach. People act like Islam is new to Europe, it’s not, it’s centuries old. Like Muslims are new to Europe, they’re not, they were systematically raped, persecuted and killed just 25 years ago, while whole Europe was watching. They’re still digging up the bones! Everyone seems to forget about that.

What is (relatively) NEW tho, it’s refugee crisis from Syria, Iraq and other ME and NA countries, so it’s clear when people say “leave your culture and your religion” or “clash of cultures”, it’s clearly aimed at brown people.
