I mean addiction is a mental health issue, it's a disease...

You don't have to like Nicki, or even condone her rumoured "addiction" but it seems pretty insensitive to be like "Wow she might have a disease? Glad I unstanned..."

Even if we assume it's true which, although I believe it is, I can't say for certain - we don't know the circumstances of what led to the addiction. She may have had legitimate pain and been prescribed pain pills and developed a dependancy and addiction. The overprescription of opioids is a pretty big problem in the US and it's an issue that has effected a lot of famous stars.

But she had an opportunity to be nice, instead she chose to be petty and mean and people don’t buy that anymore. Trying to dim someone else’s light won’t make yours shine brighter.

And Nicki IS fire, I love her music. But you don’t see Gaga hating on Beyoncé. It is that attitude/spirit of creative mobility and freedom, and a willingness to evolve and change that sets artists apart and makes them truly respectable. She should learn to embrace change and to make something positive. For example, if she went really hard on a rap with Cardi... I can’t even begin to imagine how incredible that would be.

Edit... I know this was off topic and I’m sorry, I just want to rationalize why my favs fight all the time and don’t do the right thing and collab :saladga:

I was just reading into this and saw that some pointed to this video. I literally thought at first that someone had edited the voices in, but it's her.

This is concerning to me

They pointed to the fact that she's a millionaire and the bags wouldn't be exciting to someone like her. They also pointed to the noises she was making.

The reaction just doesn't fit to me, and apparently many others on the internet

I'd definitely say she's a frequent user of something. Let's not forget the part of Remy Ma's Shether rap where she accused Nicki of using cocaine and ectasy:

"Coke head, you cheated on your man with Ebro,

I might leak the footage of you sniffing them ski slopes,

They gassin' you up, but you been on E, though,

Pills and Potions? Yep, you've been on E, hoe."

That was a major part of her diss, yet something not a lot of people picked up on. I guess drug taking is so common in the business, especially among rappers, that no one bats an eye at it. They glamourise weed, so why not go one step further? A lot of names in the industry have taken or are taking some kind of drug, some names would really surprise you. It's so common among non-famous civilians as it is, even rich high class ones, so of course it's going to be par for the course for celebrities, where they can get drugs for free.

Why do rich people do drugs like seriously....you could buy whatever the hell you want yet you're still depressed? I don't get it. It can't buy you happiness but it can buy you a comfortable life. I rather cry in a Rolls Royce than in my 2009 Toyota corolla any day any time :messga:

I think a big part of singers in particular, is the pressure to always create new work. At least with actors, they just need to get offered a job and they read lines they're given. Singers have to do much more strenuous work like creating the script, recording it and then performing it live in venues all over the world. That would take its toll on a lot of people. They suffer from tiredness, anxiety and insomnia as well as fearing that people around them might just be friends/lovers because of who they are. All this with the burden of criticism and they'll start taking something to numb it all and something to give them the strength to power on through. But yeah, I still struggle to understand the concept of wanting to take drugs if you're not in a bad place. To me, drugs are something you get sucked into when you're poor, unemployed, have personal issues, no hope, no prospects. Not when you're rich beyond your wildest dreams and have your every need catered for. If you're feeling stressed, go to a spa or take a year out the limelight, you have the funds to do that. The concept of abusing any kind of substance because you feel stressed has never really made sense to me.
