I always hate these lists because they’re so arbitrary like no one will ever agree with it as it’s such a personal and vague question

it’a far easier to identify songs that had the biggest impact, songs with good lyrics or good melodies

personally Poker Face and Can’t Get You Out of My Head are two standouts since 2000 but that’s coming from a gay man who loves electro pop bops

#1 I kind of disagree with. But let’s not avoid the fact that for a song released 15 years ago, it still sounds fresh, and obviously it was an international smash.

Bad Romance should be higher though. Glad DOMO is top 20.

If you guys want to seethe at a list, read The Telegraphs (yes it’s a newspaper, I know, but still) 100 greatest Pop songs that defined the 00’s and the likes of Poker Face AREN'T included

And the relentless overrating of Beyonce continues. I pity the people who make these lists. It's like they've listened to nothing but the most processed music that the media spoonfeeds them and nothing else. And of course, it's always the biggest singles that make the top 10, nothing more obscure.

By the way, I don't understand why some of you are saying that Crazy In Love still sounds so fresh all these years later. It sounds the absolute opposite. It has that dated 2003 sound. But maybe it's just because I'm older than a lot you, so actually being there when it was big felt different. I was 13/14 at the time and whenever I hear music from that time, while some of it does make me feel nostalgic, I do realise it exists in a time capsule. It's a sound that just isn't made any more and could only have been made at that time. For the record, I'm one of the very few who still believes that Beyonce's debut was her best, despite it's dated sound and even her own fans think it's dated. So, what makes Crazy In Love so timeless? I know trends come around so perhaps such a sound could come back in but understand that that wouldn't make it current, just recycled from days gone by.
