That's some bullshit. Being dead doesn't make someone a good person. Hitler, for example? He's dead, and he was a really shitty person.

I didn’t say that he was suddenly a good person.  It’s an expression with a sentiment that is akin to “you should never talk sh*t about someone who has no means to defend themselves”...Its also an expression rooted in superstition. 

Honestly, I think the guy was a piece of sh*t and I don’t feel sorry that he died. But I don’t want to put that negative energy into the universe to get me.
