BTW is still one of her greatest hits, everybody knows the song, the whole fanbase was glad when it came out and BTW era was amazing. Guys, you forget something, that weird ass video, her really weird persona at that time, horns or whatever pointing out of her face etc. GP didn't had enough of the song because it was too gay, it was because she got too weird. GP doesn't need to relate to the song for it to be successful. Despacito was so successful, and most people didn't even know what the hell he was singing about. There are many songs people dont even know what the singer is really singing about, but people still love it, cause it's fun or has a nice melody to it. Sonically it's kind of meh honestly, I never listen to it. If you look at the longevity of the top 10 songs of 2011 and compare that to the top 10 songs of 2017, you'll see that the 2017 songs had had longer chart runs (typically).
