World Health Organization: trans is no longer classified a mental disorder

The World Health Organization (WHO) just announced Monday that they will no longer be classifying gender incongruence as a mental disorder. In its latest revision to a disease classification manual called the International Classification of Diseases, or I.C.D., the U.N. health agency explains the change, and why they are (finally) doing it.

“Gender incongruence, meanwhile, has also been moved out of mental disorders in the ICD, into sexual health conditions,” the report says. “The rationale being that while evidence is now clear that it is not a mental disorder, and indeed classifying it in this can cause enormous stigma for people who are transgender, there remain significant health care needs that can best be met if the condition is coded under the ICD.”

This is a big win. No one can in a scientific or legal discussion refer to a non cisgender person as mentally ill due to their identity. That's huge. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

We been knew, but its nice to have one more source (I've been using it ever since they said they would  Also, DSM-5 might have slightly better language on this, as it allows for the existance of non binary gender incongruence; need to look into this more again, its been known they were gonna do this for like over a year though.
