derpmonster 22,412
Lady Gaga, in her reverse Martian expedition, ARTPOP's song Fashion! predicted, "There's a life on Mars, where the couture is beyond, beyond." Now, NASA has found even more evidence of life on Mars! https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/06/mars-organic-compounds-methane-curiosity-space-science/ The organic carbon compound Methane has been found on Mars by Curiosity, which landed in 2014, shortly after the release of ARTPOP. Of course, methane can be produced by non-living beings and in this case is most likely, but methane is a building block in almost all organic compounds that allow life. Further astonishing: 'Methane’s presence on Mars is puzzling, because it survives only a few hundred years at a time, which means that somehow, something on the red planet keeps replenishing it. “It’s a gas in the atmosphere of Mars that really shouldn’t be there," says NASA Jet Propulsion Lab scientist Chris Webster. “It’s incredibly exciting, because it shows that Mars is an active planet today,” says Caltech planetary scientist Bethany Ehlmann, a Mars expert who wasn’t involved with the studies. “It’s not cold and dead—it’s perhaps hovering right on the edge of habitability.”' Discuss.
