the worst thing is that they didn't even have a backup plan for it. Atleast if they were going to remove it on radio and streaming only after 1,5 weeks they should atleast have sent a new song to radio as soon as possible. Instead they just waited out the album release and let her have 0 radio airplay during the release of her first pop album in 3 years and waited way to long to send MR to radio stations. No wonder so many people were unaware she had even released a new album since it had no real lead single to build hype and the promo on streaming and radio, the 2 most important markets, were horrible. Thank god the Superbowl saved the era. I really hope they treat her next projects better

PopGa will surely do 1M WW Album Sales on-lock.. like Asia alone will give her 300k album sales at least, and around 400k album sales from EU and 500k album sales at least from US?...

Not to mention they flipflopped between MR and A-Yo before settling on the true 2nd single, which hurt the overall run of the album as well. I mean I was team A-Yo but I’d gladly be on board for MR as 2nd single (thank God that turned out well for her) but they need to be decisive on what to release and build momentum ASAP.

Her going to late late show to promote a-yo as the 2nd single since she did not include it in the carpool, her tweeting making sure people knew her new song was called A-Yo and not mirror on the ceiling and a-yo starting to get small radio updates and that radio banner for the song only for MR to go #1 on Itunes 1 day later and then switching to MR as the single. Those were messy times 

Thank god she choice MR. I would been here for A-Yo as a single but only as a lead or a follow up to a succesful single.

To be fair in all honesty, if I was an Interscope exec and I was in the room when Gaga played the final version of the album I would have been scared. Cause when the album came out, I loved it but NO song sounded like a hit. Not even MR. And who knows maybe A-YO would have done well but I didnt think it would have.

well the #1 and 2 Grammys were wrong (#4 and 2 Grammys noms arent that much worse) but this post was on point for the most part

I get what you mean. I think they chose PI as lead because it sounded the most like her old material (not much but still relatively the most similar). However, Gaga has switched singles  since, what, BTW? Hair was initially a promo that was pushed as an official single, and TEOG was also switched with MTN? Venus and DWUW.

It's Interescope, don't expect much. They keep focusing on itunes lol and the radio payola never comes in time
