Why didn’t Gaga attend the iHeart Radio and Billboard Awards In 2014?

All during the ARTPOP Era Gaga attended and performed at the VMAS, AMA’s, Youtube Awards, Jimmy Kimmel etc. but I know she didn’t attend the iHeart Radio awards or the Billboard Awards. I wonder why, anyone know? I know Rihanna was there and won a ton of awards and at the Billboard Awards Miley was quite the talk. So was it maybe because she didn’t have all that much success (having ARTPOP supposedly flopping especially after BTW success and Applause being overshadowed by Roar and Wrecking Ball). 

It would’ve been awesome if she did go. She could’ve performed G.U.Y at the iHeart Radio Awards and Applause or DWUW at the Billboard Awards. It could’ve boasted their sales! 

So why didn’t she attend and perform at those 2 award shows during the ARTPOP Era? Anyone know? And do you think she should’ve performed at them?

She was in Cleveland for her ARTPOP Ball. Not to mention she was only nominated 3 times.

Wasn’t 2014 the first iheart awards? It was a non issue like we didn’t expect her to go. And for Billboard, she was on tour she just started the art Rave I believe.

She was scaling back on promo in general due to her split with troy, depression, and poor media reception.

Yes and no. ARTrave started on May 4th, and the BBMAs was held May 18th, but she was busy playing a sold out show in Cleveland.

IIRC she filmed a video for the iheart (I think they were honoring someone?). I don't think she has ever attended the BBMAs, so not surprised she'd skip it.

Lack of nominations I suppose. And ARTPOP had a lot of negative press at that time to be honest, so they chose the biggest artists to attend their shows such as Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus who was huge with Wrecking Ball and We Can't Stop and tons of other artists whose singles performed better than Do What U Want and G.U.Y.

She also didn't attend the 2014 Grammy Awards which is such a waste to be honest. It would have boosted G.U.Y.'s sales so much and maybe secured a top 20 hit. Dark Horse premiered there and the Brits and went #1 all over the world. Drunk in Love was also performed there and was pretty successful.

Mainly cause she was touring the Artrave.

If her team knew she won something, they probably would’ve filmed a G.U.Y performance from the Artrave. Like how she did The Cure at JWT.

It was just a hard time for her personally also. That's probably one of the hardest moments of her life. She had to sacrifice her career to make the fans happy, by touring ARTPOP. She had to sing an album full of songs that would be making someone else a lot of money, someone who didn't deserve any more money, but she did it anyway for the fans. She was hurting so bad inside. Award shows were probably the last thing on her mind.
