kupo 201
It's also worth noting that this article's existence serves to prove the very thing that it's questioning. They choose to highlight Gaga for a very specific reason and it's precisely because Gaga is so very obviously an artist. She's found success with the public, with the critics, and with other artists, even fine artists like Marina Abramovic--all things worth noting because critics tend to be the guards of "quality" while the fine arts still tend to be (for better or worse) seen as the "highest brow." Hell, she's even collaborated with legends in different fields: Elton John, Brian May, and Clarence Clemons in music, Alexander McQueen in fashion, and Frank Gehry (architect). By any qualitative measure you can think up, Gaga passes muster (obviously art can't be qualified as such, but that's essentially what this article is trying to do, so it's fair to turn the tables). And they pick Gaga and not Katy Perry or Rihanna precisely because she's so undeniably and obviously an artist and that bugs the author. Katy Perrys make music in a style they hate, but she can be dismissed. Gaga makes music in a style they hate, and can't be dismissed, and the author has trouble reconciling that. And the result is them authoring an article where the best they can do is say, "well, is she?" Yes. Duh.

TheMadridHash 4
I kind of agree but kind of disagree, let's be honest, now everybody's wearing crazy outfits puling the plug on regular performances and now pop performances are more explosive all since gaga came and relived the old times pop performances For gaga to get attention from now on with a dress, will be harder, now people don't get impressed that much, i remember at NYE 2012 when she wore that thing during HML and twitter inmediately got a "What Is Gaga Wearing" i was like, how much is this attention going to last??? i do agree that, everytime she sits on the piano whether it is on an award show or in her concerts, it completely changes, because then YOU HAVE TO focus on her Music and Vocals, and that's where they talk that music needs to be built, from the basic and then it¿s pop, you gotta have some fireworks.... Gagaloo911 12,959
The thing is: Gaga brings something new to the table, IT IS about music, but it's also about fashion, art, crazy performances, visions, freedom. But people see all these things as "she wants attention" MTE. They're completely ignorant. Though I don't think the entire article was bashing GaGa. Parts were, but they brought in points of other artists and celebrities praising her for her energy and her talent. It wasn't all bad

KillerQueen 8
This is the Entertainment section of CNN, nobody reads it. Ahhh, I wondered why they were even thinking on this now. I'm bored. It's on the front page of CNN.com, the main site I can't see why, there is so much going on in the world right now.
