Gaga's Career Popularity (According to Google)

Google Trends is an interesting tool for Google to measure the popularity/interest society has in a certain topic (song, celebrity, movie, TV show, etc.) I decided to take a look at the provided infographic to see how Gaga has faired. Here are some findings:

1. Gaga's peak popularity was March 2010.

2. Gaga has spikes in public interest in May 2011, August 2013, Feburary 2015, Feburary 2016, October 2016 and Feburary 2017. 

3. Feburary 2017's peak was her highest amount of popularity since November/December 2011. Gaga's popularity was always higher from April 2009 - November 2011. 

4. Google even lists the countries in which she is most popular. Here are the Top 20 regions.

7. There is a "compare" feature. I decided to compare her search trends to a few other pop-gals. Here are the findings:

Beyoncé: Gaga first overtook Beyoncé in public interest in June 2009. Gaga had the crown until July 2011 -- when they essentially were tied in public interest. Since, Beyoncé has always had more public interest, except in August 2013. 

Katy Perry: Gaga first overtook Katy Perry in January 2009. Gaga held the crown until they tied in August 2010. From then, it was pretty equal until March 2012. Since then, Katy Perry has had consistently more public interest, with a few exceptions. 

Madonna: This isn't really fair, honestly. Gaga actually overtook Madonna in August 2008 and has consistently held more interest than Madonna, with a few exceptions.  

Taylor Swift: Gaga took more public interest in January 2009 and held the crown until Feburary 2017. They've since had a back and forth, With Taylor mostly holding interest. 

 

8. Gaga's popularity in March 2010 has NEVER been topped by the people I compared her with.

No surprise to be honest. She was at her best (music, music videos, charts, visuals, clothes) from 2009 to 2011. We stan a legend! Sad that the public lost interest over time though, but its normal.

Thats mad really, I didn't realise how popular Telephone was. The only other major female artist who matches Gaga's 2010 peak is Adele when she released Hello.

Now all we have to do is wait a few more days until the 20th when she’ll surprise drop her single with bloodpop which will happen to be the song of the century, snatching Bad Romance’s crown and have Google blow up when her popularity spike will strike into outer space causing alians to pin point our planet and invade us and kill us all.
