Ok well firstly im not even latino, im south asian and middle eastern. She barely uses latino culture compared to the MANY latinos who pretend to be black and use black culture. Do i agree with what she says about protecting her own? No. But do i understand where her belief of 'self preservation' comes from? Yes. Too often are cultures used and abused by other cultures, and after a while it can become so serious that you put your own communities issues before anything or anyone else. Whether thats good or bad is up to you. Azealia has always stated that she exaggerates online because its difficult to dilute such a big conversation into a few characters and that typing her thoughts onto social media can change the meaning of what shes trying to say. Do i really believe she doesnt give a **** about latino lives? No. Shes stated so many times about her love for other cultures and how her upbringing was surrounded by dominicans. Im honestly just waiting for an actual interview or another podcast for her to articulate her thoughts about self preservation before i make such a rash decision like you.
