sipthistea 21,099
She should be thankful that she's even considered a one hit wonder, 'cause 212 wasn't even THAT big to be taken as a hit

It's sexist imo as he's one of the "trending" rappers right now and literally has a hit on the Hot 100 whether you've heard or not. A lot of people are "supporting" a problematic person like him but choose not to support AB who's also problematic EDIT: Something to add on To me thats a hypocrisy that exists and its quite aggravating, but at the same time I feel like A LOT of people support AB hardcore and act like shes some kind of victim when shes not and I find that every bit as aggravating as people hypocritically supporting problematic male rappers especially white male rappers. To support AB yet go on rants about other artists is insanely contradictory imo. Somehow she gets a pass (with her supporters) for being as toxic as she is and I really don't get it. Adampervez 603
To every gay saying 212 wasnt a hit, it was huge in the UK when it first dropped. Every club i go to today, in 2018 - 7 years after it dropped - whether its a gay club or not, 212 will still be played every night. Its a ****ing joke that spotify will put her on the one hit wonder playlist but not on playlists such as 'black girl magic'. Also the fact that they even shade her on the genius annotation but promote artists that are wayyyy more problematic than her who havent apologised at all unlike her. She goes through way more **** than she deserves and its so sad to see nobody on here or in the GP acknowledge her mental illnesses and personal issues that contributed to her break downs. On a brighter note: sis finished her anger management classes, has received medical help for her mental health and depression, signed a $1 million contract, and is going to release her lead single from FANTASEA 2 on April 6th called 'Anna Wintour'. They're equally as problematic as her. Her apologies are half ass and they never last anyway because she goes right back to trashing everyone a minute after. She goes off on people and then turns around and contradicts herself by crawling right back up their ass i.e. how she is with Nicki these days when she spent all her time trashing her and now shes praising her meanwhile trashing every other female rapper all of a sudden. Shes full of neverending contradictions and NEVER lives up to her own ideals so the fact that anyone can sit there and call her a victim and act like shes some sort of martyr or some sh*t genuinely pisses me off. Her "apologies" are never real apologies. Get a clue please. Jesus. Hardcore AB supporters are like blind cult victims, you can't see all of her b/s thats blatantly in your face and you just go off acting like you're apart of some support system for her that no one else can understand because they "just dont get it". Its false and gross.

ordinarynam1310 2,453
I feel like Azealia doesn't have any friends to talk sh*t about with. I mean when you're already flopping and selling soap, it's not really gonna do you any good to be bashing anything, just be lowkey. But still she has some points there, and the and I don't get why there are an another Lil Pump with a different name

If anyone else, poc or not, said even a 1/4th of the crap she has said over the years they would be condemned by woke twitter. Yet for some reason shes given a pass. Someone please give me the logic behind this. @Adampervez For example, the way she went off on M.I.A. for making that point on muslim lives in contrast to how the black lives matter movement is absorbed in america may have been somewhat problematic. But there was truth in what she said as well. Yet Azealia just went off on her and everyone including black twitter just agreed with her. Meanwhile they're somehow able to find the truth underneath all of the problematic b/s she says. So Azealia can be reckless with her words and make a point about black lives and everyone will be down for it. But M.I.A. can't make a point about muslim lives? Her "apologies" are never real apologies. Trashing every other female rapper?? The only one shes said something against was Cardi B. Remy Ma was the one who decided to do an interview and state that no other female rapper was making music while she was in jail - invalidating every other female rapper. Even during her rant about remy ma, Azealia still mentioned how she loved Remy ma and still respects her as an MC. When it came to Rico Nasty and Asian doll arguing over their aesthetics, Azealia literally stated how she feels that everyone can wear whatever they want. At first she even said on her instagram story how she believes that if they teamed up theyd be unstoppable. The M.I.A. situation was completely different, and at first i had a problem with what she said against MIA too as Im a huge M.I.A. fan, but ultimately, those comments made by M.I.A. angered MANY black people, who voiced their opinions on social media against M.I.A. Azealia did nothing different. To this day she still supports M.I.A. and agrees with a lot of what M.I.A. says and stands for. Ill agree that her apologies prior to 2016's breakdown werent that genuine and shed often go back and make the same mistake, but now shes barely done anything controversial and whatever shes apologised for now, she hasnt made the same mistake i.e. using the term fagg0t (even though she clearly can because shes a bisexual woman part of the LGBT community, but thats a whole other issue). You forget how she flipped the switch on Cardi though. As with everyone else that shes ever trashed, she was praising her and saying shes the only real female rapper these days and then all of a sudden when Cardi started coming up she got annoyed and started telling her she wasn't good enough etc. You kind of brush past all her toxicity and paint this picture as if shes so level-headed in her point of view but you gloss over the hypocrisies in what she claims to be about vs. what she actually does. And regardless of how lowkey shes supposedly been, even though the truth is that people just dont pay as much attention she hasnt exactly calmed down that much. As for M.I.A. the way that black twitter got outraged was dumb in the sense that they will support certain problematic artists yet condemn others. They're every bit as hypocritical as anyone else so, the fact that someone simply gets outraged does not validate anything imo.

She stated (on instagram comments and stories) that the reason for the 'switch' is because at first she saw a lot of potential in Cardi, but then Cardi become a caricature of a stereotypical black woman even though shes not black, identifies as latina and still uses the n word. She also hates how Cardi is supported by black men because shes latina and light skin and is almost like a joke for white media. I cant even disagree with any of that, Cardi blatantly uses the n word when she shouldnt, her music has been ghost written, and the hip hop industry has a tendency to support light skin women over dark skin women. Granted azealia maybe couldve articulated her words better, but she made valid statements and i understand her frustration
