Americano 31,061
I don't really care for Mariah's music (Yet, eventually I'll stop being a lazy **** and listen to some of it ), but her voice is so soothing. Her classic hits like "Always Be My Baby," "We Belong Together," etc. are so amazing. They **** all over Adele's love crap.
Ozzy8923 9
Yeah, even after TEOG's promo peak of #3 it still peaked at #7 as an official single :nacho: Pretty damn good to me #6 . I know because that is when I started to watch the charts. :nick:
Americano 31,061
A year ago TEOG was still slaying, with Y&I about to takeover in the US
Arturo 40,746
#6 . I know because that is when I started to watch the charts. Oh, even better :) I started to pay attention during the MTN era :( So I wasn't really here to see Gaga slay the charts A year ago TEOG was still slaying, with Y&I about to takeover in the US August 23rd will be Y&I's 1st anniversary on U.S radio  Radio still plays TEOG and Y&I here occasionally Edited August 1, 2012 by Arturo52311
craig 680
Sales - Flo 237k, CMM 179k, Katy 151k, Pay 119k Radio - Pay 128m, Katy 117m, CMM 109m, Flo 53m On Demand - CMM 915k, Pay 763k, Flo 614k, Katy 580k Interesting how they differ so much. CMM would have sold something like 145k and streamed about 750k without the US Swim team doing that video. Did the video cost Katy #1, or would her miserable 580k on streaming have doomed her anyway? Klou 2,414
Okay I'm late watching the video, but just watched PTA. Ummm.... what?? The song sounds way too similar to Starships, so why in the hell would she put out another scantily clad island video??? At least make the video different so people can separate the song from v1.0. Artists like Nicki/Rihanna/Katy/Kesha don't actually change things up, lol.

Magoo 6
Wow Katy is falling faster than I thought on iTunes Don't let the colors on kworb.net/pop fool you. Wide Awake went from sharing 0.4000 with the #6 song (Want U Back) 2.2 hrs ago to sharing 0.4500 with the #4 song (Some Nights) 1.3 hrs ago. That if anything is an increase but still got a Dark Red - it's to do with the way that when songs are tied on the pop bar value, kworb adjusts the values according to their position but it often messes with the colors. craig 680
You were old enough for Mariah Carey's reign, right? What was it like? Was she everywhere, or more of a Katy Perry? It was a horrible time in music. Like several Adele's with the work ethic to keep putting out music taking over radio. Mariah pretty much replaced Madonna as queen, Celine became huge, Whitney became less dancy and remained huge. and R&B and ballads became dominant.. Katy would have been a tiny bit ahead of CMM (239 vs 236 points) with your predicted non-swim figures

I can imagine with all of them at the same time though, it was probably a bit much. Edited August 1, 2012 by Americano
