Bambino 24,238
This is in Spanish. Not sure if this is true or not, but it could be why her new album never came out. Quote Tanslated text: Queen of Latin Pop says no to trendy Latin music genres a la Despacito and Chantaje. Iconic Mexican pop singer Paulina Rubio has refused to dabble in reggaeton in order to reform her image, as her team advised her. The pressure, which is coming from Rubio's record label, Universal Music, is growing because Rubio is no longer at the top of the game like she used to be in previous eras, thus her label wants her to follow the trendy genre so her career can be pursued. However, a new single from Rubio, featuring Nacho, is expected to be released soon. Source (original Spanish text)

sipthistea 21,099
No, I don't believe you. This is impossible! ¡No te creo! Spoiler Jk , it's quite evident today's artists are being pressured to make reggaeton to boost their sales. For example: Shakira went from one of the most interesting artists out there, to become one of the rest who makes boring and repetitive music with people like pfff... Maluma. Guest
If you're a true artist you can't be pressured to do anything Spoiler Obviously everyone's a fake artist nowadays
adamsenigma 9,520
I don't like Pauli's music, but I must say she's so brave for saying "no" and follow her path. That's what an artist does, do what their hearts tell them to.

Even when she "Americanized" her image for the International market. But even then her music was great and interesting. Now it's so plain and stupid This is what's happening in music, artists are being conditioned by the labels to do whatever is selling. And that's why the quality of music is decreasing, and also that's the reason why every artist is delivering the same songs.

Sadly the Latin music scene is currently (and has been for quite some time now) dominated by reggaeton. Like, when was the last time you heard about a successful Latin pop song?
