Imagine dragging "Call me by your name" when you tweet things like "when I grow up I want to be like RuPaul and Giovanni Versace". :ladyhaha:

I don’t see the relevance to me wanting to be like strong, intellectual, creative, free gay men who are staples in the gay community to my opinion of a “meh” movie and novel’s interpretations of gay love and life made by straight people but work.

But thanks for checking out my twitter account and trying to come into a debate thread just to start an argument I guess

Is it that bad? I've not seen it yet but really wanted to :(  Like, are they actually self hating gays, or just struggling to come to terms with it because there can be a difference I think

the main guy drops the f word a lot and is very straight acting :neyde:

but you might like it, everyone has their own tastes

Hollywood focuses too much on names and money than art it seems.

If you’re just now realizing this than you’re decades behind

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

yeah i knew that already but in the past decade they seemed to be making a bigger leap towards being more for quality over money but once the 2010s hit and the Superhero and Romcom mania started reigning over us where every character has to be epic and universal and not niche, where actual niche movies that are good are poorly received and people are advised not to watch them, where special effects are valued more than audience impact etc etc

It's just disappointing that no big actors or directors have spoken up about LGBT representation, i know race issues are big in the American system right now but we're still miles of proper media representation :/

:duck: Straight acting? You mean like act extra, talk girly, like fashion and say yaaas queen when their girlfriends show them their dresses? Like that? :laughga: I really didn't understand that part

HOW YOU DARE TO NOT LIKE GOC?! :grr:I really liked the movie and for me was a subject of loneliness more than being gay...And I'm sorry for feeling related with movies where a gay man doesn't look or act gay :selena:

What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

i mean he was just very scruffy, a lot of toxic masculinity, doesn't really care for his hygine, drops the f word and is pretty racist a few times, we all know for a fact he'd think drag race and pop music is trash :poot:

There are many talented LGBT actors, writers and directors in Hollywood who aren’t getting LGBT roles because they’d rather have a movie directed by Peter Jackson, starring Leonardo DiCaprio playing a self hating gay man with his experiences written by and told from the perspective of straight people.

It’s like how they’d rather hire cis people to play trans people to make the characters more “passable”, I remember in the last few months a casting call for a trans character in a mainstream movie that is due to come in 2019 (i don’t remember the name) got exposed for stating they ONLY wanted cis actors to apply.

Also, you’re using utter nonsense examples as if I was saying ANY LGBT person would do...

They have a movie to sell. In their position you'd hire Leo over a trans actor.

You are describing me gurl... just kidding :ladyhaha: Gaga is God. And well he lived only with his parents in the country side but the power of love changed him, in the sequel you'd see that now he loves rupaul, he buys Joanne and cries watching 5F2 :ladyhaha:

Hmmm fair enough, not that I'm trying to argue or anything but I'm fully against the 'straight acting' term and believe there's no such thing so that wouldn't bother me, the f word isn't needed really though
